Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's much better than Lewadowski and prime Kane was twice as good as him. But though I've a fondess for Harry, I'm properly over him. He was brilliant but he's a hard man to love like there's an odd reserve about him. I know how Dele feels about us, even Bale became strangely sentimental about Spurs. Son Heung-min well... let's not even go there he is everything we feel made flesh. Harry...not really sure. He will play in the EPL again but not sure the man can seperate Spurs and Levy so not sure who it will be for. Id bet not us if pushed.
You're kidding, right? Kane would only come back to the Prem for Spurs, based on his interviews. I don't find him hard to love at all and a big part of that is exactly what you say: he's very reserved. Part of that is that he's an ideal rolemodel for the kids, ideal professional, never causes any trouble, great family man, looks like he could be your next door neighbour etc. (which has ironically hurt his profile). But, more importantly, he doesn't feel the need to make these big phony public displays. Look at the joy on his face when he's at his least inhibited (e.g. after scoring a goal) and it's all very clear. He's never celebrated a goal at Bayern like he has in a NLD.

For example, he's still close friends with Son - both of them have said it since Kane left - but he doesn't feel the need to talk about it all the time. Many people were upset when he didn't make a big public post about Son leaving but they've both said in interviews over the past two years that they talk to each other regularly. Harry probably knew about Son's decision weeks before we did. And he probably said everything important that he wanted to say to him in private, where it belongs (IMO). I think it's a problem that the public want players to put on these big parasocial performances for them. Kane's an intensely private man in most ways. I know it's heartwarming when we see players make grand public gestures but most of that shit is all for show. I'd rather have the sincerity.

One of those things where transfer market values lead you astray.

Isak is 25 and has many years of top level performance in the athletic crucible of the Premier League in him, which Harry Kane (likely) does not, so it's only sensible that the right to lock Isak up to a long-term contract is a more valuable asset in the transfer market.

But to play a game today, Kane is absolutely the better player, which is not to take anything away from the outstanding Isak. Kane's ability just dominates a football match in so many different ways, almost nobody occupies the brains and the positioning of an entire defense the way he does.

That's the thing about the whole "Harry Kane Team" barb, it's hard to overstate how much opponents entire gameplans were dedicated to slowing him down above all else in his later years here, and it still mostly didn't work.

I'd take Kane over Isak all day, every day for the next couple of years. He's the best (most complete) number 9 in the world. It really is that simple.

Always said he's a better number 9. Lewandowski has an even better scoring ratio, but he offers absolutely nothing outside the box. Same as Haaland. Kane not only drops deep and pings a football around like a world-class midfielder, but he also clears a large portion of set pieces out of his own box.

Him and peak Benzema are the most complete number 9's around.
Yeah, Kane's defending of corners and set pieces is very good by CB standards, never mind a CF. For a CF it's the best I've ever seen.

Exactly that!!

It's like when people wish their partners "Happy Birthday" over FB or Insta...

Just say it to their FACE.... they're probably sitting right next to you as you're typing...
As is MY wife, whom I love dearly....
Pass the remote love, Countdown is starting....

He’s good to go until he’s 40 I reckon. Never was quick or strong, but the finishing

:kaneear:

He wants to be regarded as one of the all time greats & for that he needs a golden twilight to his career ala Ronaldo

We shouldn’t have sold him! Bring him home. Media field day for ENIC/ new owners & all. Probably more a next summer move if it happens.

Vuskovic was tasked to mark Kane, and let’s just say Kane gave him quite a rude awakening. Especially in Kane’s 2nd goal, he absolutely left Vuskovic for dead. Vuskovic has all the potential to be a star, and this loan/experience playing against Harry Kane will for sure help him a lot in his development.
