Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Be a good litmus test to see if we still get loads of South Korean fans come to watch spurs if son is away and they have national games.

Still be plenty of South Korean tourists in London I’m sure.

There do appear to be a fair number of genuine supporters among them now. They've turned up when Son's been out injured. Hopefully, they're Spurs for life now.

Next up: get all the Aussies onboard!

If he plays like last season, that could be a blessing in disguise.

But I doubt ange will put up with 30+ games of mediocrity.

He managed Celtic for two seasons so I’m guessing mediocrity is exactly what he’s used to putting up with!!!

Explains why he was so poor last season.

I guess in a normal year he would have had his surgery mid season but seeing as it was a WC year they probably postponed it until this Summer.

I really hope he can come back from these injuries. My gut tells me to sell a player that is 31 and appeared to be declining last season, but I doubt the club will sell him this summer.

At the very least I'd like to see him heavily rotated with Gil unless he can get and stay hot. I'd like to see Kulu shooting more. Gil is unselfish and happy to feed Kane and Kulu. Gil being virtually frozen out while injured, nonproductive Son started game after game after game was incredibly frustrating to watch.

What's surprised me over the years is how little demand he has. That bid from Saudi Arabia must be the most concrete interest we've seen for him in who knows how long.

Kane also has just had the one concrete bid as far as we know. It's more of a case of why bother waste your time, llke a club bidding for Haaland, Saka or Sala. Sure there's plenty who'd be interested but you know they're not for sale

Its no surprise. Levy is famous for being difficult when it comes to selling a player and there are better options out there.

Just heard on Talksport that Son is now officially a year younger after South Korea changed the way they register age at birth. Previously they counted age including the gestational period so at birth they were deemed to be a year old. They have now changed to the international method that everyone else uses so Son will stay at 31 next month instead of becomming 32!
Checked it out and its widely reported.

Fairly sure his age was always calculated by his DOB by the club. Would be ridiculous if they simply just followed the South Korean way when determining it !

Yeah would make sense. I was just gobsmacked to hear about it and then read it. Hadn't realised there was a different way to regsiter age. Checked the club website and they give DOB and don't refer to age.

I lived in Hong Kong for a bit so I knew that people were considered 1 year old at birth (due to 9 months gestation) but assumed for football purposes that they used D.O.B like everyone else.

Will his transfer-value affect accordingly?

Do Koreans have a longer gestation period that the rest of humanity?

:avbcringe:
