Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's this attitude that holds us back.

When did Ferguson ever keep a player who was well last their best? Heck, he'd have them out if he thought they were a year away from taking a downwards turn.

Our fans still think Moura deserves minutes for something he did 3 and a half years ago.
We really need to be more ruthless.
I would give Son until the end of the season to try to rediscover his form but if this carries on, I'd be looking for a new club for him. At times we look like we're playing with 10 men.

I hope its FOMO for the world cup. I really, really hope that's what it is.
But I'm a tad worried he's burnt himself out.

If we had options your point might have validity...

This really isn't true. There's no magic slow down button when you hit 30. Loads of athletes peak after this age (even ones who rely on speed & agility) and many maintain that level well past it. It totally depends on the individual genetics wise & also how they've looked after themselves.

He's still quick. I'd get the age angle if he was looking a tad sluggish but that hasn't been his issue at all.
Who, as a pace player, has peaked at playing football in the PL at 30+?

Has Vardy really peaked?
He was 30 in 2017
He's been plodding away but Leicester have gone from winning the title to relegation fodder in that period.

He scored 23 league goals in his thirties. He certainly was peaking during that period of his career, or at the very least maintaining the same level ... he's dropped off now but I'd expect Son to drop off when he's 34/35 as well.

funny enough souness talks about being +30

I see a lot of similarities with what happen to us circa 2019.

A worn out starting 11 due to a high tempo style of play with many under performing star players. A squad starved of investment and replenished with some poor signings.

I wonder if Klopp will suffer the same fate as Poch. I’ve noticed a few Dippers calling for his head.

I did explain it and there was a counter argument. It could be entirely in the realms of possibility that the marketing is important to Levy. My initial comment wasn't gospel, I don't share a bed with the guy.
I like having a laugh on here no teaching business economics and secondly whatever I will say you two won't have it anyway.

I didn't say buying a player only for marketing. Clearly the guy also has to be worth money on the ball, the initial investment is there to get the club in a better position and as it turns out for Levy, and I don't think he expected Son to provide a new fanbase culture which also took a few years to ramp up didn't it. He would be an idiot to sell him after the success of last season and pre season based on his output so far this season

I'm a bricklayer and know the 75 times table that's about it

There's no explanation here regarding "branding and the bigger picture"

Unless I missed it, which is entirely possible.

Wish him a quick recovery but right now he'd be a hinderence, not a help against Liverpool.
earlier reminded me of when i think it was vertonghen got injured against ajax and we got sissoko on to beef the midfield up and stop us getting overrun. it was a forced change that we needed from the manager getting it wrong.

that ball was coming back instantly with son and lucas up there. thats going to annihilate the midfield and defence as they get no respite. bissouma being forced on won us that game tonight, we dont win that unless conte was forced to make a change. same against ajax with vertonghen, it kept us in the tie.
