1 v 1 , he has so much trouble going past a player or creating space for himself if hes not already outpaced them. Been poor since many months now.I’d be fine with his bad form if he contributed even a tiny bit, but he doesn’t.
It really is like playing with 10 men. He receives the ball, stands there for a few seconds and then passes it backwards. Every time.
The advantage Dortmund have is that Bundesliga is played at a lower intensity, so they have a much bigger pool of young players to choose from who can then perform.
Explained it in this earlier post:Out of interest why did you give me a disagree about it being time to sell Son?
He's scored 4 goals in his last 7 games, which is not bad for someone who has apparently totally lost it.
This level of criticism would make sense if we were controlling the games, and Son was missing sitters etc. Given Son has received more criticism than Reguilon on TFC today, it feels like scapegoating to me.
There's no doubt Son's best quality is clinical finishing. Stats show he has highest goal/xG conversion percentage in Europe since 2015 by miles.
But in the past few months, I don't think we've been controlling games or creating many chances.
When Jose was manager our mindset was too defensive. We relied too much on one strategy of Kane dropping deep and sending a through ball to Son, but soon teams realised this and blocked it off.
Then Mason came in and tried to promote an attacking mindset, but by droppingKaneDomBadBoy he ensured we don't have any creativity in our midfield. There is no point in having a clinical forward in your team if no midfielder makes incisive passes.
Even Bergwijn's great goal today came from a Villa mistake. Kane has scored 3 goals in his last 7 games, and 2 of them were assisted to him by horrific Michael Keane errors.

Given Kane wants to leave, is it wise to sell both the #1 and #2 most clinical finishers in Europe at the same time?
My concern is Son is as incredible a goal scorer as he is because of Kane. I'd be worried we don't replace Kane's playmaking and goal threat, leading to Son being suffocated as the only viable attacking option.Son’s in the longest cold streak at the moment and deserves the criticism but I am surprised some here want to sell him.
Him and Kane have produced the majority of our goals this season. If Kane goes and we sell Son, can we really expect the new strikers to settle into our system so quickly and start scoring?
Getting rid of both players in the same season doesn’t seem too rational if you ask me.
It may sound ridiculous to get rid of our second top scorer, who’s also top 5 in the league but given Son’s contract situation, it would make sense.
He’s an aging winger who relies on space and pace; stats wise he’s had the best season of his career. Despite the one year left, a decent can still come for Son.
If Kane leaves, I’d say we go for a FULL REBUILD.
Has Son's decline coincided with the news that Kane wants out? Maybe it was some months ago and he has had a wobble and wants out too, who knows till they know, eh?
The loan is being repaid next MarchIt would make more sense to sell Kane and/or Son, not because of their current form or their desire to leave, etc, but from the club's financial perspective. The club is in debt of more than 1.1 billion pounds, including a 175 million-pound short-term loan from the Bank of England. The loan must be paid back soon. The club also previously estimated that it would lose about 200 million pounds in revenue this season alone. That being said, if we sell Kane and/or Son (along with other fringe players), we shouldn't expect that the overall proceeds would contribute to rebuilding the squad in a 1:1 ratio. I am not saying Levy will not attempt to find Kane and/or Son replacements at all, but he will more likely utilize more of these 1 or 2 year loan options, buy-back clauses, youth options, etc.
Son should be sold because of his poor form as highlighted earlier by me and several other postersI agree. And it will be even tougher now to get decent players with no qualifications for any tournaments.
Believe it or not, over the past 3-4 seasons, Son has had a better goal scoring track record when Kane is not playing. I think last time someone looked into it, he scored around half the matches he played in without Kane. Part of that is due to the fact that he's playing more centrally and up top and I'd assume another part of it is because he feels the need to step up.My concern is Son is as incredible a goal scorer as he is because of Kane.
I don't think its a coincidence that his form fell off a cliff right after his contract talks fell through (around Dec/Jan).Has Son's decline coincided with the news that Kane wants out? Maybe it was some months ago and he has had a wobble and wants out too, who knows till they know, eh?

That's what I thought. son has been utter garbage since the new year yet starts every game he is fit for. I thought moura was beginning to put in some decent performances after his recent run in the team, then gets dropped.Don’t start with the statistics
He was shite last night
Didn’t want to know like most of them
You had a willing trier in the bench in Lucas who couldn’t get on
Don’t tell the Son Fanbois! That's what I thought. son has been utter garbage since the new year yet starts every game he is fit for. I thought moura was beginning to put in some decent performances after his recent run in the team, then gets dropped.
On his day, son is class but for me, there are too many off days, I would sell this summer
