Ex-Spurs Player Hugo Lloris

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm not so bothered about social media interactions personally. I feel cheated that we never really got to say goodbye to Hugo properly.

It's a shame testimonials are no longer a thing.
Yeah, I always thought we could put on one game that covers many players: Dawson, Sandro, Defoe, Lennon, Hugo, Vertonghen (maybe Toby), Walker, Dele, Rose, Eriksen, Dembele, Dier & Kane.

Players don't need testimonials these days but I think the fans do.

well in that recent fan forum Levy did say his greatest moment at the club was getting the champions league final and opening of the stadium.
I still haven't rewatched even the highlights of that game as it reeks of failure when we were so close, and I doubt it ranks anywhere close to Woolwich's biggest achievements making the cl final.

But I can see it from Levy's perspective too as it was a huge moment for us just to make it there

Since 2003 - New stadium, CL final, domestic cup, 2nd in the league.

.....................Both clubs.

It's not SPURS biggest achievement; just (arguably) Levy's.

It’s one thing in hindsight (he’s right it was a huge achievement) but it’s another to send that message a few days before the CL final.

I suspect he was just dancing to the sponsors tune(*) and overlooked the subtle, negative messaging involved....

(*The sponsors won't have wanted to gamble on whether or not we won the final or not so opted for the peak profile being the eve of the final...... i.e from their perspective; sponsoring the commemorating a CL final is better than potentially commemorating a loss.)

Didn’t our strip that night say “champions league finalists” on it?

If not, apologies for my memory playing tricks on me.

If so. I’m struggling to work out what Hugo’s beef is.

Very much doubt it.
It would almost certainly have said Tottenham v. Liverpool, Champions League Final and the date. (as in a kit specific for that match, similar to what has happened on numerous occasions for many teams down the years)

Certainly would not have said "Champions League Finalists", which basically says participated but didn't win
