Do you get tired of being insane?
Outrageous?!!!This has got nothing to do with mental strength and taking that cheap shot at Hugo, a club legend and born leader who's won the World Cup, that's lame.
What Levy did was outrageous but just shows once more that he & his gang don't care about winning. If you can't see that and prefer to take a dump on Hugo instead, be my guest.
Had I been in that dressing room, friggin Daniel would've had that watch round his waist. Any serious player would tell you likewise.
And it ain't just the watch thing, that's just an example Hugo is using to make his overall point. Same as Conte done, same as I hope many other Spurs players & coaches gonna dare do.
If Levy shook Lloris by the hand after the semi and said “well done for getting through to the final”, is that a problem? It's not that big a deal. Watchgate highlights that the chairman doesn't have the mentality to win cup finals.
We lost that game for many other reasons as well.
It's more the regression throughout that summer and the next season that was concerning.
Our rivals built on failing at finals.
It was an achievement but it should have been acknowledged after the final, not before. No other club would do this. You think Klopp would have been handing out these watches before Dortmund played that CL final against Bayern?
The focus of everyone at the club should have been winning that final, not celebrating winning a semi.

Seems to me that it shouldn’t be. And the only difference between what happened and what I’ve said is the existence of a watch. And the watch thing happened a few days later.
I reckon it would have been IWC who came on as a big sponsor around that time.It was probably the CEO of Rolex's choice (or CASIO, knowing us!)
Always seems a bit humiliating when the losing finalists have to collect their silver medals. It's not an achievement. It's not a problem if we win, but I still think there is something to it. It's not that deep, but yeah, watches for finalists, sacking Mourinho before the League Cup final - he isn't exactly encouraging the lads in a direction to win a final.
I have a medal for participating in a Guinness World Record attempt for a group 10k. The attempt was successful but the medal still only says attempt on it. Obviously it is nice to have the attempt recognised beforehand but it'd be better to have the actual record holder certification and medals which I'd have to pay seperately for again and don't know if I could be bothered to or not.
I get the feeling footballers hate participation gestures. I don't mind my participation medal that much because I'm not a pro footballer and running a 10k for a runners' group is an achievement for me regardless if the group got the record or not.
I have a feeling most footballers want their silver medals in the bin.

Watch schm-atch.
What a kick in the jewels this reminder is:
"From 2 June 2019, a change in the rules meant that a penalty would no longer follow if the ball struck a player’s hand after touching another part of their body. The final took place on 1 June 2019, and something which wouldn’t have been an offence the following day sealed the fate of the final before it had really begun."
That penalty, the year Chelsea snaked the CL from us. The new definition of Spursy seems to be getting dicked by ludicrously stupid and soon to change rules.
Maybe we are missing a detail here. Maybe Levy got his US Marines uniform on, channeled Christopher Walken and made the players all keep the watches up their asses.
That would explain the performances on the night I suppose.

Didn't buy the watchesOutrageous?!!!
Maybe he shoulda got "Champions League Winners" engraved on the watches instead to give the players the impetus to win, and prove beyond doubt the Chairman's belief in them!
But then he would've been accused of jumping the gun and tempting fate!!
Bald cunt can't win!!
I bet he wishes he'd never bought the job lot of watches in the first place!
