Manager Igor Tudor

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah true, he's been out the game for years, but I think more than anything the players need someone who knows how to talk to the talk more than anything and hype them up enough so they can play with more freedom and less worry.
I’m sure there are managers around who can do that. It’s hardly anything that only harry redknapp is capable of.

Less risky than the desire to bring in an ancient redknapp tbh .

Considering it's extremely blatant they're after Poch there wasn't much choice for a temp only role. I personally would've taken rose but very slim pickings if you're letting them know it really is just a 4 month only job
Yeah my guess is they had a chat with Rose and we got a delayed reaction via the media today. Think he's the type that would've wanted assurances of the perm gig if he kept us up. Not a straight mercenary like Tudor.

Horncastle knows his stuff on Italian football. Not much here but if he shares his wisdom in the next few days it is worth a listen.

Analysis by James Horncastle

Igor Tudor has considerable experience as an interim. He came in at Lazio in March 2024 and qualified for the Europa League. He then replaced Thiago Motta at Juventus last spring and ensured they didn’t miss out on the Champions League.

Juventus kept him on as they underwent structural changes within the club. Damien Comolli, formerly of Tottenham, moved from general manager to chief executive at Juventus and then appointed a new executive team. Tudor was sacked in October. He remained on their books until a contract resolution freed him to pursue other opportunities in the New Year.

Tudor worked with Tottenham’s old co-sporting director Fabio Paratici while assistant to Andrea Pirlo at Juventus in the 2020-21 season. He knows Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from that time. He also worked with Randal Kolo Muani last season. Tudor will bring discipline to Tottenham.

It remains to be seen how this squad fits the 3-4-2-1 he has tended to play since deploying that system at Hellas Verona where he first stood out as a coach.

So he knows how to get Muani scoring goals at least

It's Friday the 13th.

I know him from when he managed Gala! Solid appointment, and I could even get behind Tudor for the long run. Solid tactician. This is another one of Don Paratici's recommendations. I didn't even think this was in the realm of possibilities, so pleasantly surprised. LFG!
The club hasn't exactly elevated itself to Juve/Bayern levels since he's been involved signing players and recommending managers. If it's got his name on it I don't trust it in the slightest. We'll see i suppose if we stay up that's all that matters but I don't personally think plucking a random name that's been sacked left right and centre with no success and no prem experience is the way to go.

What does a 3-4-2-1 even look like with our injured squad?

Vicario
Romero Danso VDV
Porro Palinha Sarr Souza
Gallagher Simons
Solanke
Well Danso's toe exploded so won't be him and Romero's out for 3 more.

I'd guess something like that but with Dragusin and one of Palhinha/Byfield/Gray in the other CB roles until Romero is back.

One small blessing is that Dragusin is less shit in a back 3. Looked decent in that system for Romania and Genoa.

I’m sure there are managers around who can do that. It’s hardly anything that only harry redknapp is capable of.
Sure. But he already has a large amount of PL experience, and, specifically managing these dicey situations too, unlike Tudor. That is a big difference straight off the bat.

If Tudor doesn't hit the ground running post Woolwich, it's going to get spicy very fast!

The circus continues.

Paratici walked out of spurs because he wanted Frank sacked and Tudor as interim was his suggestion. 2/3 months later we finally do what Paratici recommended. This just more evidence that Vinai and Lange have no idea what they are doing.

What do I expect? I know very little about this man but the whole thing stinks of a stellini vibe. I'd have much preferred a redknapp/keane/sherwood/Mason setup yo just get the feel good vibe back..I imagine this appointment will just end very toxic.
