I love how the flavour of the month changes so readily :harrylol:

A few bad results for Hassenhutle and he's written off. A couple of good results for strugglers Brighton and the conversation switches to Graham Potter.

Let’s be honest most people would want Nagglesman as first choice but he is unrealistic so we are just shooting for what is around.

Well, this isn't quite the game I expected on the basis of the comments I read here, but I would say the story of it was Liverpool having a total nightmare against Brighton's low block.

But there is no doubt that Brighton's players don't hide from the ball when they get it, which is great to see. And on an individual basis, they are a very limited bunch, so fair play to Potter.

Even though they ended up defending deep quite a lot, they were not standing there like mops; they pressed aggressively, imo.

Agreed. For me Nagglesman is first choice but is high risk or high reward, you feel he could be brilliant or a bin fire of an appointment, plus as you say difficult to get. I'd have Brendan Rodgers as the safe and steady option, knows the prem, good football, plays youngsters. Outside of those 2 its much of a muchness for 5 or 6 others.

Whatever Potter has achieved with Brighton so far it's chicken shit compared to what he managed in Sweden.

Agreed.

If we were looking at Potter, it's the stuff he done in Sweden that we should be looking at. The Brighton stuff should just be proof he can do it in England.

To take Ostersund from the fourth division to Europa League football (and beating Woolwich too) should be commended.

All whilst playing a brand of football that's really really pleasing on the eye.

Rogers is a very good manager but I doubt he would leave for us. At least with Nagglesman it’s the promise of a new league but even then unlikely.

Mourinho has been a disaster appointment even if he wins the LC. He was brought in to win the title and we ain’t probably getting even top 4 with a revamped squad. Might as well go back to fun exciting football if we ain’t got a chance of winning the Prem.

Whoever comes in will need to be supported properly. The fact is 99% of what you see on the pitch comes from training. So this time we need to build our staff properly. Can we also build our scouting system so that it either reports into the manager or a director of football. There is no way any scouting network should be reporting to the chairman. Levy should not even see the players we want to buy list he should just be given the name of our target and then we decide how much the target is worth.

I want Mourinho gone but we are going to have to get all the other stuff right at the same time. For Spurs to be successful again it does not matter who we get if the foundations around him are built on sand.

What Potter did in Sweden was very impressive. But it will always be stained and tainted due to how they did it.

Which wasn't on Potter. But Swedish football will always put a big asterisk next to Östersund's accomplishments due to the actions of their office and chairman to get them to where they are.

Potter got out of there at just the right time. It will be interesting to see how his career develops.

Think we should go for benitez or perhaps eddie howe, the way its going we may not even be in the top 2 teams in london this season let alone the top 4 and qualifying for the CL, right now id say we are behind west ham and battling with chelsea to finish as london second club.

I actually liked to see that from Potter because my biggest complaint about him was that he seemed fine to play his style and lose rather than adapt (in games) to get results.

If he is showing now that he is understanding that at times you need to be a little more defensive to get results then that is a pretty big step from him in what was, in my view, his biggest flaw.

Also, as you say even though they were defensive they didn't let it prevent them from still attacking and not being afraid to have the ball like some teams are.

It wasn't a fluke either, they beat Galatasaray, Bilbao and Herta Berlin. After the Bilbao game their coach said something along the line "we came here expecting to dominate the game, not to be outplayed like against Barcelona". I'm from Sundsvall, it's pretty close to Östersund, I have lots of friends there, so I have followed him pretty closely. The most impressive thing for me is how he made the players grow. And how he could change the approach mid game. 3-4-3 to 4-3-3 in a heartbeat and the players handled it. One game when they were trailing he ended the game 2-3-5 and got a late equaliser. And it always looked like the players knew what to do. He's has a degree in psychology, he's also some kind of footballing degree (whatever is worth). Finally in my Potter-suck off, he's always been loved by players and fans. I really think he's destined to big things. I'd prefer if it was at Spurs.
