Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He’ll stay and captain us back to the Prem.
People keep saying Coventry but if you're a newly promoted club on a limited budget, breaking your wage structure and spending 20m+ on a guy turning 30 who is just coming back from a year out with an ACL is a massive risk. Kind of move that, if it backfires, torpedoes your entire season.

For similiar reasons I don't think many other clubs will go for him - it's just so risky to sign a player fresh off an ACL.

I think he kinda owes it to us too tbh. He's spent a year being paid mega money to recover while telling us how much he loves the club. I won't hold it against him too much if he goes, but he could be a bit of a cult hero if he captains us back up.

Bang on, exactly what I think and I feel he’d relish the task/adulation he’d get.

Yeah I hope so. If there was an international tournament I think he'd be more likely to push for a move so lucky the WC is this summer.

Also he's at a stage in his career where he hasn't got much time left to make a real mark - he could leave a legacy and be loved by a huge fanbase at Spurs if he stays. Coventry will always be there for him in a few years as a final swansong.

I guess it’s what player comes back.

If he is 100% or even 90% he is our best player and the only player who can operate smartly both in attack and deep linking play.

If he comes back 50/60% we are still fucked.

Just have to get him playing and see, no amount of training will indicate whether he's up to speed for top level football...

Because look who he's up against in training.

:sarrtongue:

I think one of the journos (JPB) said last week he's kicking a ball about but not in "contact training".

Has that changed
I think it was a ciuple of days ago a sky sports presenter said hes not back in full contact training, but yeah it seems weird they showed him with bentacur and saying back in training because if hes still a while away it would be pretty dam pointless.

Hes 8 months post op, so thats probably too quick. Rodri did his after maddison and returned in april last season so who knows.

:porrohands:

Did he time travel??

Kidding, I know what you meant. We should find out tomorrow at the PC anyway.
