His issue is mostly injuries. Can’t stay long without something happening. If he was always fit he would be hitting numbers as high as any AM in the league.

Just his style of play means he’s never gonna be a 7-8 out of 10 every week player. He’ll always be up and down, and when you throw in his injuries, we need another cerebral player to mix and match as we go.

Eze. Maddison is at his best better than Eze, he knits play better and his overall stats are generally better. I think someone at Leicester described Maddison as 1/3 unplayable, 1/3 unnoticeable 1/3 unavailable.
He is worth having for at his best he can mix it with the best easily but we need cover/competition. I was hoping Donley might be that but hard to tell if he can step up to this level.

I think a lot of Brentford fans have the gooners as their 2nd team. A bit like Stevenage and Spurs.
Do they? I remember their fans taking the piss out of Woolwich when they played them in their first premier league game a few years back.
I have met one or two who had Woolwich as their ‘prem’ team when Brentford where in the lower leagues. I admit that is purely anecdotal
Eze is more of a carrier/dribbler type than a passing type like Maddison
The reason I’m so hot on Cherki is that you can play him wide right and he will dribble and play 1-2’s with end product. But if you play him central he can spray passes like Maddison and when JM is out, we have literally nobody that allows us to play the same way. Eze wouldn’t allow us to play the same way.
I thought Maddison was inconsistent last season, some good matches, and some where he didn't do much, at one stage it was like Kulusevski had taken his position, but then his form dropped off and Maddison improved.
