Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It would be malpractice of the highest order to bring him back this season. Forget it.

And it's not true that his game will get affected very little by this since his game is apparently not very reliant on athleticism or something. Execution of any kind of sharp movement on the football pitch that puts pressure on a player's knees gets affected by such a devastating injury, albeit to different degrees. The game is hardly about running at full speed on a straight line.

Those sharp half turns he was doing so well after receiving the ball in tight areas to shake off defenders will become much more difficult for example.

Thing with Maddison is, Unlike Solanke - who never seemed to miss a gane before joining us, though I know he did - is that Maddison DID have a history of injuries.... We knew what we were getting!

Solanke and Muani have played every game since under-12s it seems before joing us!

Lovely piece from him there. Talking about how when he came to Spurs, how much it meant to him - "I always felt like a Tottenham player", can tell how much he genuinely means that. Can't wait for his return, just hope the injury doesn't take too much out of him

He's a class act on and off the pitch

His injury before a ball had been kicked this season really has fucked us over

Couldn't agree more on both counts. He's such an asset both on and off the pitch, even just then he's talking about how much he can't wait to show up for the new manager and how much he wants to prove his worth to him. His attitude is superb, and massively misunderstood/ underappreciated (or at least it was) by some of our own fans.

Yeah he's got bags of emotional maturity and is one of the best talkers we've had at Spurs in a long time. Will undoubtedly be a top pundit one day (and will be good to have another in our corner that isn't bloody Jamie O'Hara).

Really hope we get to see him fit and back at his best for at least 1 or 2 more seasons. Think it's fairly unlikely we extend his contract given his age and persistent injury issues.

He is a class act. Great player and a really top guy who speaks so well.

Should be captain next season imo.

But yes we've missed him massively and when he does hang up his boots he'll make an exceptional pundit

Light years ahead of people like Jamie Redknapp.
