Best way to have a go at one or two players, by praising the personality he likes.
Is mad to say that it's better to have Maddison on the bench, even when he cannot play, than someone who would be able to take to the pitch.
Have a feeling that means Madds will prob be captain next season. Should have been this season tbh.

I think a captain that was out all season with an injury would have been more effective than Romero.
Its fascinating. Its clearly aimed at someone..Maddison has consistently shown the right stuff team first raise up those around you even when unable to physically contribute. VDV Romero RKM none of them see minded to put the team before themselves.

Is there a rule that says he can’t sit on the bench as a non-sub? Seems a huge shame to not utilise a sub spot. If we went with a starting XI of Kinsky, Porto, Danso, VdV, Spence, Bentancur, Gray, Xavi, Bergvall, Tel and Solanke for example. Our 9 available subs could be: Austin, Richie, Muani, paulinha, Olusesi, Biss, Dragusin, Souza, and Connor fucking Gallagher all of whom have had minutes this season. One of them needs to miss out therefore. Thats not taking into account LWB, Blyfield, Rowsell, Melia etc
It's not a surprise and I guess they just want to be cautious.
Hopefully minor but ideally you also don't really want Maddison going full steam as opposed to small and largely immaterial game time until next season.
And 100% he should be captain for 2026/27, although that's as much to do with no one else being a stand out option.
Fingers crossed. If not the medical department needs investigation. Fucking livid the way our players were out for such extended time. Even Isak is back playing now.

What a complete and utter dumpster fire we are. Moaning all season that our bench is shot due to injuries. Then select a player as a sub who can't actually play. I'm sure he can sit on the bench as a player/coach if they thought about it...
Put him on the bench as a coach. You can have as many of them on the bench as you want.
