Put him in on the bench for Lo Celso.

Playing. Not physio.

Wow, there should be no question even.
We have permanently crooked fraud, who has proven so many times he cannot either score nor assist.

Or we have 18 yo lad who seems strongly build and seems to be able to do both well.

There should be no doubt.
It could happen that he actually would not be ready on mens level, then we can think again. But I think it would be worth to try it out at least.

Heard it all before with skipp, onoma, winks,Carroll etc. Premier league football is a completely different kettle of fish. Time will tell but we really do have a tenancy to overhype our youngsters.

Must use this momentum, they are world class numbers, give him some meaningful chances (if 2 goals up Vs say Luton, if Madders is to be rested, chuck him in).

All 4 you cite, made/are making good careers, Onomah was the best of them at 15-16 but never flourished. It is very fair to say Winks was the last to get a pathway, since then we failed with Wonder talents like Edwards and multiple others left seeing no pathway.

How about, we make a clear pathway? Give Donley 30minutes in a couple of games, reward outstanding U21 performances. Even if he fluffs his lines, the rest of the youth players see he got a chance and see more clearly the gulf (or not) between their best current player and Prem standard, win-win.

Actually think people have become fairly reasonable on it in recent years. Bit of excitement over Parrott initially but people calmed down after a few weeks, will end up a good C'ship or lower PL squad player imo. Most realise Scarlett has a long road to becoming any level of PL player. Winks was a talented & good footballer, unlucky our style of football changed, dulled by injury, still a good player tbh and will play many more good years in the PL once Leicester are promoted. Skipp was v good in a domimant C'ship team, and fairly confident he'll make a good career for himself at a Fulham/Palace level. Should move to a side like that soon, get mins, and grow at the level he's more suited to. Devine is a nice player, lets see what happens with him, hopefully grows into mens football over this season imo, his progression has stalled a bit for me, but certainly another with a future in the top division. Donley and Moore in particular are two to be excited about, they have real vision and quality, whether they grade up physically for mens football remains to be seen, supporting a football team is about hope and excitement, I look forward to seeing how they grow. J Clarke was a joke signing for many Spurs fans 18 months ago, now possibly the best player in the Championship. Young players need minutes and repeated chances, and most need them at a club invested in the players progression. Sorry for the wall of text

Almost all of those you mentioned were PL standard, but Spurs are very different now to say till the AVB/TT/first Poch season. We are now so much better that it becomes very hard for an academy player to make it with us.

Carrol was really pretty feeble for us in MF but did a decent job for Swansea. And remember Jake Livermore? Played 50 or so for us. No way would he ever get into a squad now.

Skipp may be a squad player for us, Winks was very decent till injury.

Donley and some others looking very interesting right now. If they get the luck and stay clear of injuries, who knows.

Has he been training with the 1st team?

There’s definitely a hole in the squad at that number 10 area if Maddison gets injured.
From a physical point of view probably one of the best positions to introduce a young player into. It doesn’t rely on physical strength. Although you will get fouled a lot.

Just need to be very very good to find those pockets of space at PL level. If he’s got a decent footballing head on him maybe we will see him get a chance this season.

100%

Donley could be shit and not cut it. I’m ok with taking a season to reach that conclusion and to give him a fair chance. In fact, even if he doesn’t do anything loan him and let him develop.

He is at least a good EPL player IMO.
Wasn't really that impressed by Luton this evening.
Spurs have been down this slippery slope before but....if we can get a decent lead at the weekend let us bring him on and see what he is made of.

Jamie Donley is ready to take his chance at Spurs

Now, speaking to GiveMeSport, Dean Jones has revealed what he is hearing about Donley and his chances of making it in the Spurs first team.

He said: “Jamie Donley was listed among the substitutes after propelling himself into Ange Postecoglou’s thoughts with scintillating displays for Spurs’ under-21s and impressing in first-team training.

“At a time when cash is king in the Premier League – and finding a Harry Kane replacement is the trendy theme around North London – there is genuine hope for the emergence of an exciting forward who has been part of the club since Under-8s level.

“It’s early days but sources around Spurs believe there is a genuine chance he gets lift-off this season. It might not be too long until there’s a new chant around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: ‘Jamie Donley, he’s one of our own!'”
