Don't know how much we can read into the bale rumours but for his current wages and the fact he is injury prone, just can't see it happening, although if he were fit he is the exact kind of game changer we could do with.
He’s 28, injury prone, and will take a large amount in wages. Sorry but it’s too much of a risk for me. I would offer to take him back on a one year loan first to see how he settles in with the current squad

Really can't see Bale ever putting on a Tottenham shirt again. As stated numerous times by many - too expensive, too old, too often injured. I honestly hold no ill-will towards him, and it'd be nice to have a player of his calibre in the squad. Just can't see how it would ever work out. Time marches on.
We seem to be getting linked with Cenk Tosun quite a bit. With Kane, Llorente and Son (not to mention Jansen on loan) I'm not sure he's a necessary addition, but he's a striker I'd be happy to see at the club if either Jansen or Llorente move on at the end of the year.
*edit* Bloody hell, just had a look at the Turkish League standings and among their top scorers are Samuel Eto'o (who has scored 20 a season recently, despite being 36) and Adebayor.

I read that. But also could see it as a warning/FYI for a new signing. Especially since he does the same with current players.
Goretzka got me thinking about something in particular: one might make the case that this January could be an excellent opportunity to attract some superb young players who play for a Europa or non-european side (i.e. not cup-tied in the Champions League) and may be more attracted to the prospect of coming onto our project given how well we've been performing in our 'group of death'.
Liverpool have been able to attract players based on their historical standing for too long now. It's high time we took advantage of our growing reputation and perhaps aggressively recruited for our attacking midfield (as with our purchase of Davinson Sanchez to boost the defence, which has been a masterstroke).
