He creates space because he often gets double marked.

He scares defences which leaves us more space for our other very dangerous options.

As for the price well I wouldn't pay 70 or 80 but if they would sell for 50 plus KWP I'd rather do that than 30 or 40 million on a battering ram sort who will more than likely go the way of Jansen as kane when fit is undroppable.
I would say our biggest problem is off the ball movement around the opponents box, we tend to stand and admire rather than look to move into space. A point well made on a couple of our matches where the commentators said "They pass to feet, not to space".

Lo Celso looks the exception to this rule, I'd like Van De Beek instead of Fernandes or Zaha, some of his movement is a joy to watch.

The off the ball movement aspect is down to the coaching. It was a problem under Poch and now with Mourinho

It is, I agree, but I think there is a dynamic in a player that makes them want to move and create space. Dele has in to an extent, but lots of players seem to pass a ball then admire the pass rather than move for a return.

I'm got so sick under Poch watching the attack flow from the back up to 25 yards from the opposition goal and then come to a crashing halt, normally resulting in sideways passing before a slack pass gave away all momentum.

Mourinho hasn't been too inspiring so far with his coaching and I agree with others, I'd be loathe to give him what he wants in the transfer window as I'd imagine he has a limited shelf life.

No we don't imo.

A player like Zaha would be ideal as Sonnny can definitely do a job up top and has proven it. Also with Kane back we can still play all 3 of them.
Respectful disagree.

I feel that Son does better up top when he has a bigger central figure to play off of. Whenever he played alongside Kane/Fernando/Janssen the opposing defense had to commit 1-2 players to marking out the bigger forward, which allowed Son more space to operate in. Someone like Dele who capitalizes on runs into the box on drop balls would also benefit from this.

Having a more obvious number 9 alternative also gives us the option of playing more direct balls into the box on days where Son and Lucas are firing blanks.

Son is a good short term alternative, but with Kane picking up more and more long term injuries we must bring in a more clear cut alternative IMO. Even if it is more of an assist creator that allows Son and Lucas to operate off of him.

Just get Bale for Eriksen ffs. It's not hard. Eriksen is desperate to leave us. Bale is desperate to leave RM (or the other way around - whatever). Bring him home. He'll help Kane. Take some responsibility off his shoulders.

Get in a really good midfielder. I don't know who. Not my job.

That will do for now. I know the defence is poor but I think a lot of that is down to no midfield in front of them.

Getting Top 4 is the be all and end all. They have to splash the cash or they are FUCKED.

We could have had Dani Olmo for around €25 - 30 million in the summer, he can play as a 9, 10 or wide.

Would probably have meant we'd have done a Leeds though, so on balance I'm glad we didn't

He gets double marked for Palace, because he is their danger man. You are currently talking about big fish in small pond. If you have Son, Kane and Zaha as threats, you'll double-mark first two, Zaha is not even in the same class as previous two.

Due to that, yes, he MIGHT become more productive in our shirt (more room and 1 marker instead 2), but also might not. Pointless gamble - if we are to pay big bucks, I'd like us to pay it for complete footballer, not for someone like

Janssen has won more than Kane

Thoughts on Tyrone Mings? 26, quick, authoritative and puts himself about. Think he is only going to get better as well.
He is looking good this season. But has been injury plagued through out his career so you know what would happen if we signed him. I think mourinho would like him as he is a tough no nonsense type of guy.
