Im talking about the squad..not our previous achievements or business model

Yeh, well the post you sought to contradict wasn't.... I was asked about our buying strategy and discussing whether it is wise to be enviable of BVB's 'buy to sell' model. My point was that we have moved on.

Maybe you'd care to look at it another way; this SQUAD beat BVB home and away last season.

We're the 4th richest team in our league.

Narrowly and probably temporarily ahead of Chelsea, but there is no longer any excuse whatsoever for lesser expenditure on the playing side than Woolwich.

4th richest based on just this years worth of revenue. We also have one of the biggest debts in football, probably the biggest away from all of the sultan and oligarch ownerships of this world.

Yes it's frustrating but that's how it is. 62,000 seater stadiums and new training grounds don't grow on trees my man. Take away that Champions League revenue and whilst we are run very well, we don't take in heavy loads (well not yet we don't anyway)

Not seen any figures to reflect that we're above the Chavs.

How temporary is "temporary"?

....I'm guessing this is just a spike caused by our CL final.

Similarly, would we still be above Woolwich if not for said spike too?

(Genuine questions)

6th/5th... My point still stands on a global "who gets to sign the biggest players" scale.

BVB get a lot of players in with the opportunity to play for a big club whilst having a release fee. They are shop window for the juggernauts and are happy being so. Sell on % clauses, release fees they play the game that suits them constantly playing second fiddle to Bayern and constantly having the consistent cushion of Chanpions League in their league.

You and I know well that we would have the resources to keep him longer than Dortmund and maybe fufill our ambitions to chase big trophies.
If we are not going to sign the big talents, who the fuck are we going to sign? The next best ones and hope for the best?
What is our ambitions really?

Indeed. Yet by contrast they are still a worthy interim proposition within their league having been the #2 team for the last decade or so.

Contrast to us; punch above our weight and we're still only teasing 3rd.....

Most profitable club in London according to the recent "table". Possibly due to CL income but certainly we don't have to rely on upwards of the 250m that Roman put into them last year.

We used to have berbs keane defoe and bent

We scored 100 goals

Clearly levy aint the problem

It was poch.

If we want to win leagues you need a backup striker that can score goals.....solskjear...sheringham....wiltord....jesus...remy and so on

Lets stop fucking about and get it sorted. Its fucking stupid
Fucking Bent, Darren Bent? Get the fuck... ' it was Poch'.....Seriously? You need help or drugs, probably both.

It’s not about being a feeder club.

Juventus and Man U wanted him as well. Maybe just maybe he chose Dortmund for stepping stone reasons?

We are mate seen it on the telly biggest club in London.....financially!! Still shopping at 'Dodgy Ozzies' though....

Atletico Madrid and Dortmund have it very good. In leagues where they seldom challenge for the title but seldom risk missing out on the majority of the financial rewards getting pipped to the league comes with. In contrast our league will soon have 6-8 teams scrapping it out for only 4 places (Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Man U, Spurs, Leicester, Wolves, Everton if they stop being morons in the transfer market, even Sheffield United are owned by a Prince/ King these days, Aston Villa have insanely rich owners so will scheme uptheie way up the table if they don't slip up this year)

The league is fierce over here, that's why so many love it and pump money into it as a spectacle.

But you could equally say you are moaning & stamping your feet because some strangers online don't agree with you. So you're basically choosing what's acceptable to moan about. & you didn't have to engage with me, you chose to. You could have just put me on ignore or ignored me. So you are choosing to moan about my opinion.
& your blaming levy for everything point. Equally there are lots who excuse him for just about everything. Like he can do no wrong. Can't possibly be levy's fault. They change their whole stance to match what levy decides to do.
I'm not gonna put someone on ignore just because we have different opinions, no point in kidding yourself into thinking yours is the only viewpoint.

I'm not one to argue that Levy is perfect, our protracted transfers bug the shit out of me, our lacking in key areas at times has been infuriating, being so close to glory in multiple occasions but falling short has been gutting. But I'm absolutely sure none if it has been for any reason but necessity, he hasn't been skimping on transfer fees or holding out for higher sales fees with the intention of bumping up his own bonus. I'm sure if he could just go wild on spending with no repercussions he would love to.

And yeah, we're all moaning to an extent, it's the internet, opinions about a game, nothing personal or even of great consequence in the grand scheme...
