Skipp is obviously is the most talented and has the higher potential of the bunch, but all the others were older and further on, and I think could have done that more one dimensional job that we are lacking so badly of just being a Wanyama type of busy cunt, allowing others to play.

And none of them are more limited technically than Sissoko or Dier are - as midfielders.

Skipp is more physically and mentally developed than other players of his age, and no reason why he shouldn't be playing in maybe a third or half our matches this season - next season he'd be capable of tackling the majority of matches, but I think it better to ramp up the number of matches he plays as he's only just 19.

Not sure id agree that marsh who is older would be better. The more viable candidate would have been Amos but Poch decided to loan him to a Championship to get experience after his injury hit last season. Nothing wrong with that decision if it was intended to use this season to further develop Skipp whilst Amos got minutes elsewhere.

If we had a development plan for 18 to 21 year olds we'd be looking to blend in to the squad 18 year old DM's White and Bowden ( both in last preseason squad)either later this season with maybe half a dozen appearances or more likely next season off the back of preseason 2020. But that will require a change of strategy to be implemented.

We probably have better in Skipp. Problem us he's getting no minutes this season despite looking good ini preseason and a decent debut season last year

Marsh is too limited technically, but let's see after his loan this season. Amos might be ok just too limited experience after unlucky injury took him out all last season, hence loan this season.

Comes back to Spurs lack of development plan for 18 to 21 year old though.
The youngsters were meant to get minutes in the League Cup ...

He looks like a serial killer.

You are not going to get any argument from me about Skipp. I'm not saying Marsh is a better footballer than Skipp, he isn't, just that his development is further on. He's a more one dimensional, defensive type player - but that is exactly what we need right now to balance off all the 8's we have.

Amos likewise. Why pack him off on loan when we are desperately short of a 6 type, which is what Amos was for much of his academy time - and a decent looking one too before we started messing him about as a LB.

All three of these kids were playing most of our pre season games in 2018, and playing well, Skipp carried on in 2019 and looked our best midfielder in pre-season.

Only for it to mean absolutely fuck all as we watch a completely dysfunctional midfield for the last 14 months, with Sissokodoing fuck all except blundering around pointing at stuff.

Atm we have Ndombele and Winks backed up by Dier, Sissoko and Wanyama as CM options ( with the likes of Lo Celso, Dele and Eriksen who could be dropped back from AMs).

With Amos lack of experience, although he had a very very good season loan at Stevenage, I could forgive Poch putting him on loan at QPR to get minutes which would enable him to compete with or upgrade the likes of Sissoko if Poch rationale was to give Skipp the minutes this season so as to compete with or upgrade Wanyama. To me that makes sense, not ideal but pragmatic.

But atm Skipp isn't getting minutes, Ndombele is looking good in attacking but not in defensive mode so all that load is falling on Winks which is an issue whilst Sissoko skill is solely cpowrrfully carrying the ball forward and certainly isn't good defensively. Dier has in effect been out for a year with injury ( I know he has played but obviously has not been 100% when doing so) and is just coming back, whilst Wanyama is no longer good enough.

So agree with you the CM options are not good enough atm - might improve if Dier comes back, but either way one of Amos or Skipp being played would have helped us.

Atm just fail to understand why Poch is stubbornly keeping to the old guard and not playing Skipp from time to tine. - we need to for he future anyway.
