Sorry but that is pure pipe-dreaming, just as the people who want to sign Fabian Ruiz, Thiago, Ndidi, Zainola and players in that bracket.

Will never happen, not because of policy but because we cannot shop in that price bracket. Those players are beyond us for their next step.

Umtiti hasn't only played twice for Barcelona this season, how much do you reckon he'd cost us? As for Zaniolo I definitely think that with some smart business and Roma failing to get Champions League football that he could be a goer.

Maximum fee you can see us forking out for someone if we want them? It's a tricky one but surely as a club we have a limit.

Why does it take so long for just about every signing we've made this last four years or so, so long to get indoctrinated into this unique style of play, we seemingly have and ready to play? All the other 'Big 6' sides seem to be able get their players to hit the ground running straight away. Even a kid like Daniel James at Man U signed from Swansea in the Championship is starting first game of the season and flying ever since.

On the other hand what have for example Pepe, David Luiz and Tierney done so far in the league at Woolwich? Either been shite or injured.

Umtiti would definitely be doable

Liverpool are a good comparator. Club with similar financial clout as oursevles, nowhere near the financial power of the two Manchesters or Chelsea when Abramovich was still interested. Klopp is there nearly the same length of time as Pochettino. Just about every signing Klopp has brought in - Salah, Mane, Firminio, Robertson, Van Dyjk, Allison have hit the ground running and have been outstanding successes. They spent big on the likes of Van Dyjk and the goalkeeper, out of Coutinho proceeds. The first four I've cited would have cost in or around what we spent on the likes of Aurier, Janssen, Sissoko and Sanchez.

Our transfer scouting has been an utter disaster for a good four seasons now. Now we have to go out and panic buy in January. God knows what we'll end up with.

Sorry, I need to make myself clear:

Players in that bracket will not join Tottenham on the ascent of their careers.

That is it really.

Now, that one is firmly with Poch

I dunno.... It's not me that's built that opinion of him.

As per previous post, do you genuinely think being vigilant about the personality behind a player represents incompetence?

I sense you are just lashing out.

It depends on how strict you want to be. Nothing wrong with being vigilant and doing research and wanting to pick good characters but even that doesn't mean being successful in recruiting. Look at someone like Vinny Janssen. Apparently a top guy, great character, hard worker but look how that turned out.

I haven't seen or heard anything controversial about Ziyech and I think he would make the transition to a top club in a big league.

lashing out? Against Levy and Poch? Yep there is frustration for sure. Between them they are at fault for the state of the team and squad right now.

You're teeing me up here Spaniel but I'm gonna leave it alone. You seemed a bit tetchy about my last quip about dental care. I mean, you are standing this up at the backpost, cutting it back to the spot, throwin a tater ball but I'm not touching it. See, Mr Cultural Sensitivity over here.
No. I kept seeing so many teeth in the pregame interview, it simply just struck me that he has so many, it looks all wrong. Didn't mean to sound tetchy.

Good point. Rondon was available this summer and we missed out. We need to adjust and stop thinking Striker = goals.

He's hurt and won't be back until end of November I think. I don't do much Serie A except the odd Fiorentina game so I'm not the best to answer for you.
We should have also at least considered Perez too.

Ruiz went for 25M last year when we needed MF help. It's not the money it's the scouting and goldilocks on the bench who needs just the right player for his intricate system to then wait 2 years to play them. Players like Janssen.

Woolwich are having much the same issues as us-a manager who has no discernible style of play and chops and changes systems and players every week. If they want to play out from the back, they don't really have/use the correct players for it. Scandalous counter-press, leaking cheap goals, not creating enough, using square pegs in round holes, and some of the senior players are outrageously lazy. They have some talent in their ranks, but if I were an Woolwich fan, I would be screaming for Emery to go.

There will always be a big international competition coming up and players in our price range usually have to fight for a place in their national squad.

Why the hell would anybody in their right mind come to Spurs knowing there is a more likely chance you will be lucky to warm the bench for the first six months at best. In a team that haven't won away in 9 months. Moving to us would be a career limiting move.

Poch has already said he is happy with the squad and doesn't want to buy any new players in Jan. Levy I'm sure thinks this is perfect. But it really doesn't matter as whomever is stupid enough to come to us won't be seeing much playing time this season.

I simply find it impossible to believe that somebody who has played 90 minutes since infancy can come to us and suddenly find it impossible to last even half a match. Poch's stubborn approach to playing his favourites regardless of form and opposition is making us a laughing stock. It reeks of arrogance or passive aggressive agenda to prove some sort of point at the expense of the club and it's fans.

So I had a look at Norwich's game against Man Utd to run the rule over this Aarons chap. Very fucking tasty.

Soumaré or Sangare would be absolute steals.

Watched Sangare and Soumare play against each other a couple of weeks ago. I've seen shitloads of Sangare, and talked about him on here a few times, he's a better, technically more rounded footballer than Sissoko at that age, but his passing is still incredibly erratic and unreliable. I like the kid but I'd pass right now and see if he develops in the next two years.

Soumare I first caught a glimpse of last season (and mentioned him then) but he was Lille's best player a couple of weeks ago, very robust but good on the ball. He's more of a 6 than Sangare who's more of a 6/8 hybrid and is best played with a 6 not as one. He's not as likely to attempt the type of passes that Sangare does, but he's a lot more sure footed and less error prone form what Ive aspen so far.
