Thanks for the info. Based on that I would not say no to Conceicao in the summer if Poch lasts that long.

But with Ancelotti entering a feud with the Napoli boss he might soon become available.
I think however Conceição is Italian bound next summer he played a bunch of years there for inter and lazio and he’s very found there. Specially in lazio. But he would be a good fit for us. Runs a tight budget. Effective football. And the feuds he would have with other league managers would be legendary. He’s a hot head but always puts the club as the priority. Never him or the players. It’s about the badge.

Wait what? Care to explain please?
De Laurentis is not happy with the teams performances, and decided that the squad and manager has to go to a emergency training camp straight after the game last night. The players and Ancelotti did not agree and refused. Insigne, their captain tried to talk to the president after the game but he had already left so he grabbed his son and said "tell your dad that we aren't going on a training camp, we're going home". Ancelotti also refused to meet the press post game and apparently the squad are all getting their lawyers involved.

It is a circus of Italian proportions.

If I pissed off the good people of Napoli, my least priority would be a lawyer.

I'd probably buy a Challenger battletank, as many Blackwater PMCs at I could afford and have them escort me out of town in my battletank.

Re: the Onana talk, I wonder if there's more to Lloris' injury than has been let on.

He already seemed to be on the decline, but compounding that with a nasty elbow dislocation may spell a premature end to his Spurs career.

In that light, it would make good sense to get his replacement in January rather than in summer when our desperation for a new starting keeper will be clear for the world to see. This isn't meant to be down on Gazzaniga, who would still very much be needed as number 2/pressure on a starting spot.
Hmm...

Ndidi would be amazing but I don't think Leicester is going to be a selling team. I could see them buying a couple more young players next summer and really shaping a strong, strong squad. They sold Maguire but they asked for an enormous overpayment and United were dumb enough to do it.

Leicester bought smart in the last few years, young players with a lot of potential and for fees that wouldn't make your head spin. I think it's safe to safe at this point we can't buy the likes of Ndidi, Soyuncu or Tielemans from them as they would be asking crazy money. Instead we should focus on finding similar players that are within our price range.

From Leicester I would take Chillwell, Soyincu, Peirera, Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison. All would improve us.

Tielemans and Maddison though would most likely be subs for us given we have Ndombele and Lo Celso. The others though it would be great.

Thing is we have to start scouting well like them, we ain’t getting any players from Leicester, we need to get them before a prem club jumps in.

They do sell, but only for a king's (power) ransom. While we have finally started opening the purse strings (see Ndombele) that still isn't how we operate.

Unfortunately, once a player with potential gets to Leicester, it almost certainly rules them out of ever joining us. Besides, the cunts are like a hydra - cut off a head (Kante, Maguire) and they'll grow back more (Ndidi, Tielemans, that new CB lad with the hard name to spell)
We should be looking to steal their scouts and footballing structure.

Not that simple

Going from a decent team to a good is achievable (we did it) finding value in the next step is more challenging

Well, okay, fair enough.

I do think (and I hope some work has been done behind the scenes already) that we need to operate more as a well oiled machine and Poch should worry less about who we sign. I'm not suggesting signing players over his head, but let him concentrate on coaching over player identification.

This season is a real kick in the balls though. Yesterday's performance actually gives us some light at the end of the tunnel, but we are so handicapped by the early form when new players haven't been able to properly contribute. a ten-point gap to the top 4 is fucking daunting considering how Chelsea and Leicester are flying. Europa League or lower will make player recruitment that much harder next summer (but, having said that, money talks and being in the EL rather than the CL is less important now than it has ever previously been).

Yes now the stadium is built I hope we have a plan for the next stage and hope Poch wants to do it and is capable.

I have no confidence we have turned it around, hope but no confidence.

I think Leicester will chug along but are catchable if we have found our mojo.

I have a real feeling that Chelsea will nose dive December/January when the games start building up.

I would cynically like either/both to have some injuries to the starting XI THEN see just how capable they really are. We've had our fair share.
