I assume you meant to include Serie A in that list. Portugués Primeira Liga is better than the Championship. The Eredivisie is also better.
Yes Italy included

I didn't include the Dutch league as after the top say 6 or 10 teams the quality drops a lot, whereas the Championship is pretty competitive down to the bottom. same with Portuguese.

But I'd agree that teams like Ajax would certainly give the top few clubs in Championship a very good run for their money (as they would do many PL clubs).

Fundamental point though is the quality of Scottish Premiership below Celtic and Rangers is pretty poor and Championship would be challenging for Scottish League players over the 46 game season they play

Wonder if we will see Fernandes come in next month would add a bit of quality to the team.
My prediction: no
Why? Eriksen will stay and leave for free in the summer. NOT signing GLC will be too costly for Levy given the loan fee of 16(?)million. With Dele claiming Fernandes’ role this season I can’t see him getting any attractive spot in our team (summer rebuild could change that, but for now still no)

Never really watched Lille, what kind of midfielder is this Soumare guy?

Robust, strong but technically good too. Passing not super incisive but ok, he can take the ball under pressure and move with it.

I like him as a 6. I don’t believe the stuff about turning down €40m either, I don’t think he’d cost 50-60m - you always get these numbers chucked around, but he’s still a 20yo DM in his first season as a regular starter.

Doesn't come into it. 1) We are obliged to buy him unless we don't qualify for Europe. 2) If we don't and he's considered unwanted then the loan fee will be considered money already spent; we aren't gonna spend another 30/40million + wages for the sake of it... That would be ridiculous.

How likely do you think it is that we find (like I fear with Ndombele) he hasn't got the engine for the EPL....

You think he's a sure thing in terms of the physical end of things (Also see Ndombele)?

(Given Ndombele was pitched as a game-changer; I've reverted to doubting Ligue Un being a transferable level.)

If we were to scout the Belgian market we should be all over Anderlecht. Verschaeren, Kana and Sambi Lokonga. Remember these names!

Next Kompany, Witsel and Mertens.
Might be an unpopular opinion, but they are far too raw. They need at least 3 years of experience in a good side to be worth our attention.

On paper Anderlecht is an exciting project, but they are in a deep crisis. Young talent needs to play alongside experienced players and win most matches to develop into star players. Right now they only have potential and a club without the structure to develop them.

That would indeed be ridiculous, but I can’t imagine Levy being willing to take a 16 million pound hit on a player after only 1 year at the club. In my opinion that’s the only way he will look at this. I feel as if he would rather take the gamble and hope he would become the 46 million player we hoped for in the long run.

Just like stocks, it’s only a loss if you sell :levylol:

If the manager doesn't want him none of that matters.... It'll just be throwing good money after bad.

Still it's a bit moot unless you are convinced we'll finish 8th.

I believe we will get European football, but I also believe we would still buy him in 8th position even if we didn’t see his Real Betis level of football this season. Only condition is Mourinho doesn’t hate him. I predict we would still sign him even if Mourinho doesn’t rate him as a starter already.

Again not saying this is the right thing to do, just seems really really likely to happen, that’s all
