An interesting thesis
Always said it. Players for the big two get stuck in a lull, not used to having to raise their games. The answer to the question should we sign someone who scores loads of goals in Scotland is simply....Does he pass the Kris Boyd test (Kris Boyd failed the test...).

At present the only player I feel could go from SPFL to big EPL team is Edouard at Celtic. And even then, you would like him to have a season in the Championship first.

We should break the bank for Alphonso Davies. He is going to be a superstar. He is already better than Alaba (really good player) as a LB, and he is playing out of position. He is going to be worth over £100 million within 2 years.

The breakout 11 according to the Guardian:

Larsonneur (Brest) – Centonze (Metz), Tomori (Chelsea), Soyuncu (Leicester), Davies (Bayern München) – Camavinga (Rennes), Castrovilli (Fiorentina), McTominay (Man United) – Kulusevski (Parma), Chouiar (Dijon), Osimhen (Lille).

Make your picks.

Will never forget recommending him after watching him a few times as a 17/18 year old and getting laughed at because it was "just the MLS"

Milan are sending Ante Rebic back to Frankfurt and canceling the loan. Has only gotten 3 games in Serie A and Pioli (they hate each other) taking over Milan has not helped his chances.

Can play as a second striker or on either wing.

I can't believe we weren't in for him when he was leaving Vancouver. I know it's easy in hindsight, but at least a few of us here were pushing for him. I just think we're a couple years late on this one now.

That goal he set up this week was reminiscent of Bale, to say the least!

In talks with Eze from QPR apparently.

We are linked with a couple of youngsters in Eze and Ferguson (WBA) plus 22 year old Bowen.

Makes sense as we could sign all 3 without being dependent upon any of the Overseas Trained players moving on - and those players don't need to move even if the club wants them too.

Eze seems more of a playmaker (replacement for Eriksen although not that similar in style) rather than a goalscoring AM (7 goals and 3 assists this season in 21 appearances, 15 goals I total at QPR in 85 matches). Developed by Chris Ramsey, late of this parish, which probably explains his high skill levels.

We tried to get him about 6 years ago when he went from Split to Fiorentina. His career seems to have flatlined since, so think I'd pass. Think bus-conductor bus-conductor was a big fan when he was at Split.

When we could have had him for 3m or something from Split, all those years ago, I definitely was, I’m less keen now. His career didn’t exactly flatline, played a big part in Frankfurts success under Kovac, and for Croatia at the WC all the way to the final. He’s still got some likeable qualities, I just think he never quite became top drawer, can be a bit erratic , had some temperament issues, and we probably have what he could bring pretty much covered.

Yes, flatline might be a bit harsh, but for much of the time it seemed to be true, but several very good periods both at Frankfurt and indeed being a star with Croatia in the WC looking better than Messi - but after all the highs he seems to have sunk back again, quite possibly for temperamental issues. I'd certainly pass now as we have better players in the squad and other possibilities to buy without the issues Rebic might bring

Eze is not a Jose type player. He seems a bit lazEze whenever I've seen him.

Surprising g we are being linked with so many youngsters. Tbh we have been linked a lot in recent years but havent taken a chance on many

Dele was pretty much he last youngster we bought - and after that Poch took over transfers.

And now Poch has gone we are linked with youngsters again. Levy's old team is back in the saddle - the ones that bought in half the team that Poch used throughout his tenure, so we might get back to a higher success rate on transfers.
