God Zeus I hope this is merely Ligue 1 being shit and no chance he's good.

"Across the whole of 2019 to date, Saliba has started 13 times in Ligue 1, with St-Etienne winning 11 of those fixtures – a win rate of 84.6%, conceding just six goals in those games – 0.46 goals per game.

St-Etienne have played 19 Ligue 1 matches in 2019 without Saliba starting, winning just five of those – meaning their win rate drops to 26.3%, conceding 28 goals at an average of 1.47 per game."
he is epic! which is why i can't forgive Levy for not sanctioning that deal. if we could spend that much on Aurier then surely we could've gotten Saliba as well and loan him back for a season

I think in the end Saliba himself made the choice to join Woolwich. We made an offer that was good enough for both the club and for the player, but he decided to go to them anyway. Can’t really give Levy all the blame here.

I feel like Woolwich still has a high reputation among French players because of Henry, Viera and Wenger being French.

How many 20 year old CB's regularly start for top clubs .... ever wondered why?

He'd be a great signing but he would not be anywhere near EPL ready ... give the lad a chance, placing ridiculous prices and unrealistic expectations on kids isn't a great strategy ... head and shoulders above the defence that has conceded the fewest goals in the last two seasons ... are you serious?
A defence that had Kompany and Laporte, with a fresher Fernandinho in front of them.

The stats are there to see, they aren’t the same defence this season, if they were they would be riding high along with Liverpool.

I can agree that it’s hard for a 20 year old to brake in to a top team so early but if they are indeed interested in him, then when they sign him he will play. Simply because he is better than what they have playing right now, regardless of his inexperience, he is less error prone then otamendi/stones while also being more comfortable with the ball. He also passes like a midfielder and is amazing in the air.

Now if your saying they are more interested in another defender that is more experienced and has played to a higher level then yes I can get on board and agree. However if they are interested in him then being “5th/6th choice” will not be a factor in him signing, because he will not be 5th/6th choice he will play.

rejecting a Champions league finalist club whose first choice defenders both leaving at the end of the season ? - I suspected a Levy low-ball offer could've been the only thing that screwed it up

there is no way anyone can choose the train-wreck Woolwich over us

But he did. He wanted to join Arse despite us more than matching what they offered according to most reports.

Woolwich are still seen as a massive club to many young french players due to their history Of nurturing french talent.

Pure conspiracy on your part.

Side note, on the flipside ALL 3 senior CBs might still be here come next season and are all better than the scum's.

Maybe Arse offered higher wages.
