One only needs to glance at the Willian Jose thread to see that he’s not costing £100m, so he’s going to be shit.
No, he's not costing 100M because he HAS been shit. What he is going forward is anyone's guess but no ones knows. But at 28 to expect him to be anything other than what he has been would be pure foolishness. And that's just science.

Why won't Liverpool just pay the asking price? How embarrasing. Now Chelsea might get him.

Bid rejected? Why won't City just pay the asking price? How embarrasing.

When will these clubs start acting like big clubs and land players like Ndombele and Lo Celso, two of the highest rated young midfielders in Europe?

It's almost as if negotiation tactics are a thing, and all clubs do it, and they walk away from deals when the price doesn't meet their valuation.

The fees and negations are always going to unlikely be true.

However, both City and Liverpool went and got what they needed in key positions. End of.

I agree that the addition of squad depth they might well have been a degree more cautious in some deals. But only to a degree.

Tottenham have not gone and got what we neee for key positions. That’s what causes head scratching from a lot of us.

And it appears we have haggled far too many (and obvious) times, cocked up last minute deals, changed prices last minute and even been such cunts as to destroy young players careers over our “refusal” to pay due to last minute adjustments ...but keep in mind in our case Levy low balls and tarnishes each window with the shadow of failure in recent years. He’s not a DOF and if he is, he’s a poor one.

I for one am sick of it, it might not even be that we are cheap, but we look it. But that all said, it’s their business model and I don’t understand it enough I am sure. As long as ENIC make a few Bob, it’s all good, who needs wins to be happy. In our profit sheets is the echo of glory.

I was told he scores one in two for one of Spain’s top six sides. Not sure thats shit. And if he does that for them, he’d get better returns playing with better players, no?

Are you actually going to sit there and try and compare our negotiation tactics to Liverpool or Manchester City’s? Come back to me when you find an article showing Liverpool or Cuty bidding 3 million plus an academy player for Jack Grealish? Or offering an ‘insluting’ amount for a mid table la liga striker that’s never scored more than 15 goals a season.

We fucked up 2-3 transfer windows, signing no one. What negative can be said about the last one? Stop that bullshit, doesn't matter who would we buy, some people are never going to be satisfied.

City sure could have used a CB and didn't cough up enough for one in the summer. These things happen all the time. Our biggest need in the summer was midfield and we got two of the best young midfielders in Europe.

Obviously, City and Liverpool have made much better use of their resources than Spurs have since 2016. Levy needs better decision makers around him and he needs to own that. But the simplistic view of Levy not coughing up cash and only Spurs look for bargains or have walk away prices is dumb. There's a myriad of reasons why our transfer policy has been ineffective for the past 4 years.

Why did Poch chase off our first choice RB Trippier for Foyth? Why have we not had an effective DM for almost 3 years? Why did all of our strikers get ostracized and sold? Those are bigger systemic issues than why Levy hasn't bought a striker yet.

Summer 2019

No depth added up front. No depth added at Right back. Wasters like Rose retained. Eriksen’s contract mess not addressed. Dybala fiasco. Lo Celso on loan last minute. Wiping out pre season bedding in. Jack Clarke (lol) Sessengon being signed while injured.

Yeah your right, nothing to criticise in that window at all.

Don’t accuse people of “bullshit”, it’s self righteous. And if you think we “fucked up 2-3 windows, good luck to you. Because that’s a lie.

Anyway, it’s all about opinions and the truth is always somewhere in the middle so not looking for a keyboard ruck. Let’s focus on today’s game.

You could argue the last one came to late as the manager didnt get a chance toned the new players in.

You could also argue that had we managed to shift eriksen, wanyama and maybe even Vertonghen we could have new players in those positions.

Again you maybe would argue that selling trippier and not buying a right back was stupid and again failing to sell danny rose meant we couldn't get a left back in.

I'm delighted with the three we brought in but let's not pretend it was the perfect window because it wasn't.

Instead of being pro or anti Enic I just want Enic to do that bit better.

Get rid of the players we dont want and if were short of cash ok (understandably as we have a billion quid stadium) but let's extend our scouting network and go back to investing in talent.
