I understand that a lot of clubs might not have jumped on the bandwagon regarding him, but he would have still been worth a punt. There is a possibility he might never be good enough for a top team, but in case he turns out to be the real deal, then Sheffield will demand an arm and a leg for him.
And our on-pitch achievements reflect the futility of our transfer policy, that we aren't even attempting to sign him is a huge oversight on our part and we will regret this imo.

That's the problem, he never gets back at 100% because he always rushes. I'm fully convinced that this is his last chance, one more major injury and he won't be anymore the deadly striker he once was, so I really want him to take his time this time and be prepared for the next season. Also, even if he comes back, it's criminal to expect playing him 90 minutes week in werk out.

Think you're being very negative ... here's a quick reminder of another player with muscle issues

in case you don't know that's Ronaldo, he got the muscle problem sorted and has had only one major injury since (59 days torn ligament in 16/17) ... and he plays even more than Kane.

But surely one of the richest clubs, charging the highest ticket prices in the world shouldn't be relying on unproven teenagers to fill the gaping holes in our squad!
Wouldn’t them coming in from our academy and succeeding give you greater pleasure than buying expensive flops, or should we just burn money because we can?
Im pleased with our transfer window. And I wouldn’t want us to blow money on some Carlos kickaball who won’t improve us.

It really isn’t that easy. We seem to be busy in the market but I won’t be too upset if we don’t plug round holes with square plugs tomorrow.

Anyway, I wasn't expecting us to get a DM this window since we're not exactly spoiled for choice now. And I'm also not expecting our next DM to be a punt.
I thought he has looked really good in the Champions League - he has played well at a high level, is young, great engine, technical and not very expensive. These kind of deals are almost bullet proof anyway as if in a couple of years it hasn't worked out it’s not like you're not going to get your money back.

United will probably look to buy him for £60m after a great season with Sheff Utd.

Again, just shows the inept ability of our scouting setup and our appalling complacency to fill holes in our squad, especially in the defensive midfield position.

Fair enough but I'm happy for him, good player in my eyes. Gave his all for Genk. Hope he continues the way of other Genk midfield graduates such as De Bruyne, Ndidi and Milinkovic-Savic.

Big criticism from coaches/football watchers seems to be of mobility/turning circle - far more of a problem that Dier atm.

And if that's the case it may not be curable - unless as with Dier we believe he can get him back to the size/mobility that he was 2 or 3 years ago. But even that is not the highest standard of DM

If he performs well I can see him moving to city in 2-3 seasons for a fair ol' wedge, not convinced by Rodri.

Funny to see the argumentation that "no big club went for Berge, hence he is shit". Know what? No big club went for Kante, Mahrez, Alli, Tielmans, Maguire, Mane...etc either eventually... Until they did. And rest is history.

Ofc there are more players that big guns did not want to buy and who will not turn out good either in the end. And Berge could turn out to be new Imbula as well, totally might happen. But just using this argument is 100% bullshit.

When you know nothing about the player I guess that's the only way of rating him. No bids from Real Madrid? Must be shit.

someone literally messaged me saying they wanted to fight me because I said their opinion was stupid:mourglasses:
We agreed you wouldn’t share this. DMd you.

Can't believe the stupidity of this post, here's you a complete zero with no links to football agents anywhere yet claiming to know more about a high profile professional player than our scouting department, that's taking internet stupidity to whole new levels ...

Berg's agent would have offered him to every club in the EPL (well maybe not West Ham) every club apart from Sheffield Utd weren't interested, might be price, wages or that they just don't rate him ... from that some zero on the internet infers that Spurs have a shit scouting system and an appalling setup ... isn't it more far more likely that this BriPelli zero is just a trolling dickhead ... I think it probably is.

Berg may be the next Kante he may be the next Djemba-Djemba .... our "appallingly complacent scouting department" obviously think the later ... only time will tell.

I'm fine with Jose on loan but fuck off paying 25m for him. He's never been worth that much and he hasn't done anything this season to make his price sky rocket. That price is there because his club knows we are in need.
25million is fuck all in todays market..
If you think he's not worth 25million then you clearly don't rate him. In which case why are you happy to bring him in on loan?
