The only striker who's name is thrown around a bit that I think would make a difference this spring is Cavani (and it has ben pretty quiet around his name lately). The rest José, Slimani, Giroud. Are they really better than our make shift strikers?
Cavani won’t happen. We aren’t paying £25m transfer fee then £300k a week for a 30+ year old.

Giroud is a better striker than Lucas and Son, he’s better in that position. He’d accommodate their games a lot better than having to rely on Lucas to hold up the ball and Son try and work with it.

Kane always comes back from injury quickly. I’d not be surprised to see him back end of feb, beginning of March. If that’s possible, it seems lavish to spend £25m - £40m on a guy who’ll play for a month.

I’d rather we waited until there’s more options in the summer. Maybe a strong young prospect or a free Cavani for example.
For me though It’s not just about cover for while he is out, we need a second striker, Kane plays to many minutes , granted he is world class and we won’t get better but if we want to be a big club we need to start acting like one , and that means having a decent second striker, someone who can step in and play so we can start to manage Kane properly and not have him play every minute of every game

A decent proven striker sure .... but a last minute panic buy just to say we have a new striker .... that never works out well ... look at the strikers signed in January ...

Kaba Diawara - the new Anelka lol
Lewis Grabban
Cenk Tosun
Andrej Kramaric
Andy Carroll
Wilfried Bony
Alexis Sanchez
Steven Naismith
Guido Carrillo
Will Hoskins
Savio Nsereko

That's eleven different EPL clubs with absolute shockers of striker signings in January ... there have been some good ones Suarez, Zaha (to Palace) Sturridge but far more bad ones .....

If we're not 100% sure we should wait until the summer, in Spurs terms it's not that far away.
We've gone 5 years without adequate quality competition for Kane.

An utterly unnacceptable situation for a club of our size and wealth that's led to a third of that time on the treatment table as well as periods where he's performed like an unmotivated slug.

Stop making excuses

like you said, Stockholm syndrome mate. Any excuse to stick up for Levy. Just unbelievable how anybody can be content with no striker. Ruining Harry Kanes career with the way we manage him. They are an utter shambles this club. #levyout

Having another striker would obviously be beneficial ... having ten Janssens would make no difference at all ... I'd rather play a 17 year old than waste time and money doing that ....

If you know who we should sign that's available and who would get us top four, then please tell us .... or do you honestly believe that we Utd, Chelsea, Barca and quite a few others simply aren't trying?

This repeated opinion by the same tired posters that we haven't signed the mythical 30 goal a season back-up striker because Levy doesn't want one ... do any off you actually believe that?

Im liking the idea of raiding China for a few players on 6 month loans.
This striker fella, Our Mousa etc would be great and surely in-expensive.

If Mousa is fit then I cant see why we arent all over that. I mean just do it!
Surely must be a few more strikers out there maybe looking to get into the Euros.

Do think we need a striker.
Im more sign the best one we can get rather than stop gap. Imgaine the intent if we signed someone to challenge Harry.

Also would like the youth to be given a chance but havent seen enough of Parrot to know if he can fill in this year.

:mourbringit::kanehand:
Bit late to pull off a Chinese playing striker now I think?

I agree. It’s maybe just the timing we don’t agree on. Last summer, we had stronger priorities, no bottomless pit of money and the difficulty of integrating a number of players into the side. This window probably isn’t the time to make a strong signing.
Yes, we shouldn’t have gone through a couple of windows without strengthening so I’d suggest it was then that we go fo it, but we had Llorente and sort of Janssen, but Poch never played them. Or we wait until the summer and try to get some quality in. I don’t know why, it just seems more difficult to get quality and value in the winter window.

Always fans saying we should wait. Let’s wait for summer etc etc, let’s not panic buy. Load of bullshit, we have had a whole month to sort out this issue. This Kane injury hasn’t just come up. We knew full well he was going to be out the whole season. The quicker Levy and ENIC fuck off, the better it will be for the whole club

Hopefully Mr Levy is up bright and early this morning ready for a big day of business.

Personally think we will end up with Willian Jose, who looks like an average player in a mid-table Real Sociedad team and could be the next Soldado 2.0 (hope I'm proved wrong if we do get him). United have also turned down the chance to take him.
