To be honest, I think that our main focus this window should be looking to get rid of players and try and trim down our bloated squad rather than spending money for a manager who realistically isn’t going to be here much longer...
If I was Levy or whoever is in charge of such matters, I would be actively encouraging interest in all of Aurier, Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Sissoko, Winks, Lamela, Lucas and Dele. I would honestly get rid of all of them in the morning, no hesitation. They’re a group of players that have been here far too long, achieved far too little, are not going to improve any more and just constantly let us down time and time again. Obviously getting rid of all of them isn’t practical but even culling the majority of them would be a good start for the new manager that is pretty likely to come in at the beginning of new season.
I was all for spending big bucks on a centre half like Skriniar but the more I think about it the more I’d be very reluctant to give Mourinho any more money.

Winks out for De Roon
Dele out for Sabitzer
I think that sets us up nicely.. the only issue is would our CBs have sufficient enough pace to allow the manager to mix things up? I think we’ll see some moves in and out for sure

That's impossible. We can only sell Dele and Winks if we bring in homegrown players. We could sell non-HG players though, Sissoko, Lucas, Sanchez, Dier, etc.
