Transfers January 2021 Transfer Thread

No, I agree.

Though Cambiasso at the tail end of his career was bloody excellent for Leicester.
I don't think we can afford to get one of these non HG stop gap this January. If we're talking about summer, we should aim higher even with stop gap signing. Even Sissoko is better than Khedira of this past season. Upgrade on Sissoko or just keep him around for his final year. Priority in the summer should be fine tuning the XI after having a full season to assess some weaker position.

Not a lot gonna happen in January. It's gotta be the summer. Sabitzer aside, not a lot of realistic options.

Get rid of Sachez, Winks, Davies, Moura, Gazza, and possibly Dele in the summer. Bring in a homegrown backup LB, Skipp in place of Winks, Sabitzer in place of Dele (if he leaves), homegrown backup keeper - maybe Pope if they go down. Bring in Eze, Bowen, or some other homegrown winger in place of Moura.

A CB with a view to phasing out Toby.

If the Sanchez piece has any truth there are a couple of swaps I’d love us to do - Kessie, Bennacer, Hernandez, Leao

"Willing to accept 40m"

LOL.... That's a million miles away from "AC are prepared to pay.....".

AC are doing well, right? .....Are they genuinely likely to let any of those guys you mention go?

Just posted in Sanchez thread.

Romagnoli has had niggling injuries. Kjaer may be sidelined for a period. He had stayed healthy for a long time, but he used to be very injury prone. Milan is in position to challenge for Serie A after a long time. Their CB depth is shocking. They want add a CB that is understandable.

However, they have no reason to sell their best players now.

Just googled their financial situation to see if they might be in need of a sale. They have posted over 700m euro in losses over the last 7 seasons. 200m last season alone, but the financial backers simply won't stop giving them more money.

They're unlikely to cash in on a good player after winning the league.

Has anyone watched the AFC Champions League match between Beijing Guoan and FC Tokyo today? Kim-Min Jae was easily man of the match and kept a clean sheet, wonderful player. I've been watching him since the start of the year, would love to see us move for him in the summer.

I wonder if we would go for him in January?
More likely summer if the interest is real IMO.

We aren't selling any big players in January. Jose will be attacking Europa and the PL, and will want 2 squads. Dele, Moura (who I wouldnt sell anyway), Davies, Winks won't be leaving midseason.

Sanchez and Gazzaniga are the ones who will probably go, especially as Rodon will be registered for the knockout stages.

As for incomings, maybe another centre half and then an attacking mid as I'm not sure Lo Celso is as creative as Ndombele. I love Lo Celso, but he's more a grafter than a creator. More like Lamela, but less injury prone and better on the ball.

Think I just got lost in Witsel's eyes.

Apparently Ornstein signalling that we're interested in Szoboszlai. Available in January for a release clause of about £22m.

I would be going all out to sign him and Skriniar/Milenkovic in January.

Camavinga would also be another very shrewd signing and he’s another who’s contract is running down.

Given we’ve a fantastic chance of winning the league, bringing in 3 of the above 4 players would seriously strengthen our chances of becoming champions.

Despite Sissoko’s technical limitations he has been excellent at times this season and Hojbjerg has been incredible. What we lack is cover for them and likewise something different creativity wise.

Skriniar/Milenkovic for Sanchez
Camavinga for Winks
Szoboszlai for Alli

then next summer we need to sort out RB as Doherty can’t defend for toffee. Glad Aurier has knuckled down and started to put in some superb performances.

According to Germany legend Lothar Matthaus, Szoboszlai is on Bayern Munich's transfer wish-list ahead of a potential move, either in January or next summer.

"He is a gem," said Matthaus. "He’s like Kai Havertz.

"He could move to RB Leipzig in January, but I'm convinced that every top club in Europe has him on their list, including FC Bayern."

Szoboszlai in 2019 : “There has been a lot of speculation recently [about my future]. Of course, it is a huge honour to be linked with giant clubs like Juventus, Bayern or Woolwich, but at this stage of my career, I only focus on my current duties and my development at Salzburg."

Red Bull Salzburg head coach Jesse Marsch has hinted at a January exit for Szoboszlai.

"Yes," Marsch told Futbol with Grant Wahl. "The reality is that a guy like Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to have many suitors this winter."

Woolwich face competition from north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to land midfielder Szoboszlai, according to a report by 90Min.
