Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

For me, the only way Spurs, Levy and Paratice save this window and save the Spurs fans from lynching them is pulling off a deal for Dybala. That’s the only player from Juventus In this supposed raid that will bring all the fans back on side. Signing Abracadabra from Fiorentina and this Kulu sub doesn’t cut the mustard whatsoever. You better be pulling something special out the bag Daniel Monday otherwise it will be toxic. Dybala is the only way.
I disagree.

We don't need Dybala and I don't really see where he'd fit in Conte's system. Plus, Dybala may be great on his day, but there are a lot of games where he's just a ghost. He has a bad temper too, and it's well documented that he's had many an attitude problem in his time at Juve. Which, all combined, is probably why he's not joined a City, Real, Bayern, Liverpool...

Also, it'd take like 50-70 mil to sign him in January and I just don't think he'd play well enough to justify the spend. Sure, he'd be great from an image perspective...but what we need is a fighter, a guy that's gonna be ready to leave it all out on there on the pitch. Dybala has the feet, I'm just not sure he's got the guts.

So I'd rather spend that Dybala money on a solid RWB and CM, plus maybe striker cover for Kano.

But I get your point about Levy maybe feeling he needs a fancy signing to hide all his shot behind it. Tree that hides the forest and al

Been so disappointed with him. I’d seen a fair bit of him when we bought him and I thought we were getting someone who could take the ball from our defence, progress our play, pick a pass, and all we’ve got is a less tough Lamela without the occasional moments of genius.

He's not even close to being that good..... GLC just disappears into most games..... Could never acuse Erik of that.

We should not be on day 29 of January hoping that we get 2 or 3 players in before the end of day 31.

Far better to declare no interest or need in adding to a squad than to look inept when trying to do so.

It's always hard in January if you are looking for specific players but if you then start displaying a scattergun approach it just makes you look a bit stupid really.

This transfer window is going like the manager search last summer. This club’s reputation is in the toilet, it is a miracle that Conte came here.

Now Levy is going to take that miracle and wipe his arse with it.
Is this the problem with Paratici's reported style of many irons in the fire?

We spend so long lining up multiple deals, whilst waiting for ideal player (only for that bunch of pikeys to swoop in for him) that the ones we have left dangling either get another offer from a club that appears more keen or get bored and say no?

Sure many clubs operate this way but we appear to get burned more often (or perhaps we never read about what happens elsewhere).

If you really want to sign a midfielder from the Serie A, then sign Milinkovic Savic and Pay the 50-60 Million you wanted to give porto for Diaz.
Exactly. If we genuinely have that money, why not go after a beast like him? Especially if Conte has indeed told the board that we need a top, top CM.

SMS has it all. He can run, pass, score, tackle...and he's a bloody leader on the pitch and in the locker room. He has that mean streak we desperately need at always-too-soft Spurs.

How Fabio wouldn't even call Lazio to enquire about him is beyond me. But if he's not done it yet, it's just not gonna happen. You don't approach a player like SMS a mere 72 hours before the fat lady sings. Actually, I'd like him to do that...so those still defending the useless cunt finally realise how shit he is at his job

When we didn't get Diaz why didn't we go for Gravenberch, when we didn't get Traore why didn't we get Anthony etc, etfuckingcetera

Ludovic Blas would be a decent and affordable last minute move for RW/ST rotation. Impressive the other night, and any time I've seen him the last year or so.

No there are lots of visions for the club that is acceptable.

Making excuses for the parasites that run us has nothing to do with vision. It has to do with facts.
Perhaps we should all tone down the language on here the next few days. There are lots of different very valid viewpoints of the club and how its run.

We all want whats best for the club and to be successful. There is a way of disagreeing without spouting vitriol at each other and that applies to all sides.

So would we all,but my point is when was the last signing we made that we knew what we were getting, and not a punt in the dark? Bale's loan doesn't count:)
Lloris maybe?

Most were pretty cock-sure that Ndombele was god when we signed him. Most were eager to make GLC permanent 6 months before we had to....... Romero was declared a steal by some before he'd even kicked a ball for us.

The fact remains; all the interim fluff and TW hype is just that......

I always point to Scott Parker and Pallacios in this context.... Both low profile signings yet just what we needed at the time and had true impact.

Besides; there was no suprise that Jan, Dembele, Eriksen were class...... On the flipside even Lloris was eased in rather than being treated as a game-changer from day 1.
