Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

ok here is my take(hot or not) on the midfield merry-go-round. I have watched a fair bit of Zakaria, less of Bentancur and a fair bit of Luis. I genuinely think Luis is the best of the three. For a short time I felt the more dynamic Zakaria would be very special but he is not that technically great. He is a little bit well.... Sissoko.

I think Luis would seamlessly help our midfield. Whilst still leaving or main issues broken, lack of attacking wingback and a goalscorer short in attack.
Interesting. I've watched Luiz at Villa; and he's never impressed me too much- seems like a solid option. But we already have that in the form of PEH and Skipp. We need a bit more talent in the midfield.

Have we ever done a transfer with Porto?
I just had a quick look at transfermrkt and I can't see any deals in or out to any Portuguese club for 10 years at least.

After throwing a hissy fit I've come to conclusion that there is no way on earth that we are in for bentacur when we already have hojberg, skipp and dier who can all play that exact role.

Kulsevski at least makes sense in that he is a right sided attacker but we will be lucky to see him rise above his current mediocre state. If conte wants him, fine, he knows best. But do I believe that he is a first choice or a "better than nothing" transfer? I suspect the latter.

He's not played much for Juventus, and Doc said that he looks clumsy with the ball at his feet, in recent years.
The not played much isn't true at all.

He's started 5 of their 6 CL matches, and they rotate 6 guys for 4 spots in midfield and he's one of them. (Kulusevski isn't, and neither are Ramsey or Arthur)

I don't want to claim intimate knowledge of the player, but I've watched the odd Juve game to see McKennie and Betancur's always caught my eye. The two make a good duo with McKennie barreling all over the pitch and Betancur the more disciplined, technical player who can pick a pass and get them going.

He's a rich man's version of the player people once though Harry Winks could be.

Seen a fair bit of Bentancur and he is a player I rate, much better than Luiz at Villa, great breaker up of play and could also slot into Contes 3 at the back. Only 24 with great potential under the right manager

But it's not ideal that he has only had 13 starts for a team who are really struggling in Serie A. If he's not held down first XI spot in that team, how do we expect him to adjust well to a much harder league?

Luiz is a tidy player, I quite like him. He’s similar to what we have but better than Hojbjerg. He seems to play with the shackles on at Villa. Under the right manager he can go up a level. Knows the league too of course, which is an advantage.
