Blame ENICWe have the worst scouts any top club as. We don’t have a philosophy and that hurt us.
This really is what killed us over the last few years. Just no cohesive plan.We have the worst scouts any top club as. We don’t have a philosophy and that hurt us.
Oyarzabal is very interesting. Everytime I see a Sociedad match, he's the best player on the pitch.Yeah if that's the money Sociedad would actually want, they can do one. Interesting talent but not close to worth it, and not having a particularly great season either. I would assume as La Liga isn't exactly swimming in money that they would accept less, though?
Define "top club".We have the worst scouts any top club as. We don’t have a philosophy and that hurt us.
Smart spending is a given - look at Conte’s signings at Inter. Spent a lot, spent smartly won the league and all players increased in market value.Calm.
The.
Fuck.
Down.
It has not been issue with us being coy or cheap. How hard it is to remember that?!?
We have put money into player purchases of late.
But the decisions have been utter shit.
How hard it is to remember that we have splashed shitload of money-
2019/20 - Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Bergwijn, Clarke, Gedson Fernandes - combined eventual cost (with Lo Celso money paid as loan fee + transfer fee) of 180 million. Add up the wages and we are at 220 million euros for 0 starters.
2020/21 - Regulion, Doherty, Hjojberg, Rodon, Vinicus, Bale - that is 80 million + 10 million that Bale season cost us. That puts us at 90 million for 2 starters in Reggie and Hjojberg
2021/22 - Gil, Royal, Sarr, Romero, Gollini - 67 million spent, but jury is out there what we will get and what we make permanent.
Obviously the 19/20 window stands out. But if we also consider 20/21 then it will represent at very minimum 270 million euros spent. And only 47 million of it was on target - money we spent for Reggie and Hjojberg. We have flushed 223 million euros down the toilet.
What good would it make to sign 5 Ndombeles for 300 mil? It would add 52 mil EUR per year costs to the club. That would mean "deleting the club".
So it is wrong to call for MORE spending. We have to call and demand lot wiser spending. And smartness is so much more important, cause once more - just look at 19/20 window to see what stupid money wasting can do.
Holjberg for £10/12m was money well spent, it’s the £100m on Ndombele and lo Celso that was wastedYou had me all the way until you had Reguilon and Hojbjerg as money well spent.
But yeah, generally - and this goes back way beyond 2019 - it's not about money spent, it's how we've spent it.

Agree. No fan of the Danish clogger but at 12m he’s been a good purchaseHoljberg for £10/12m was money well spent, it’s the £100m on Ndombele and lo Celso that was wasted
Agree. Let’s give Sanchez a statue (perhaps it could be of him scrambling around on his knees after falling over again, looking as though he’s about to start a nosh manoeuvre)Two of our three highest paid signings have just been an absolute disaster. Ndombele doesn’t seem to want to play, and GLC seems to use us as a recovery retreat. I know a lot of people laugh at Sanchez but at least he turns up to play.

Plays on the left but can play on the right and occasionally centrally. Expensive though.
I'm sure you're already well aware, but every player in Spain has a buy out clause.
