We do not need a midfield enforcer we need someone who can actually play football and is comfortable on the ball and can be used to start all our play a Declan Rice or Rodri style player. We do not have a single central midfielder who can play in Conte's current set up.

Emerson was looked at as a deal because of Barcelona's finances, Lo Celso with the loan deal set up allowed us to save money by the way we structured the deal, Doherty was cheap and not a fit to play RB in Jose's system, Rodon cheap, cheap, cheap not the starting CB that we needed.

Bologna are doing pretty well this year, so this guy might have something to do with it (I watch Serie A but obviously I don't tune to watch every Bologna match). He was very good in the game that they played v Milan earlier in the season, where Bologna played with 9 men for 40 minutes and still made it competitive.
We bid £65m for Lautaro according to multiple reliable sources... so clearly the money is there.
