Levy is just crossing his fingers that ye strikes it lucky and gets some cheap gems. The best players we've signed in the 21st century have all been bargains.
Think about it....
Lloris, Vertongen, Bale, VdV, Toby, Dembele, Walker, Rose, Son, Eriksen, Dele (for a good while) etc.
Sprinkle in Kane coming through the academy.

The problem is 12m in those days is now 30 or 40m today. And we arnt prepared to pay that.

We are still shopping in the 10-20m range.

There also doesnt seem to be many bargains to be had. Even weaker clubs demand top dollar for their players.

Would obviously love Traore to be a success if he does sign but our bar seems to have been lowered a bit from when Conte arrived .I never really expected real top end players but we need upgrades all over the pitch even just going on the Chelsea games the gulf was there for all to see .A week to go hopefully something will happen that will get us going but it's going to be difficult by the looks of things .

Not for me I want him out for a number of reasons, spending is only part of the story. I find him a massive embarrassment to our once great club
Genuinely asking, this isn't a troll, but what are the other reasons?

I think most in the #levyout camp are there because of the underinvestment in the playing squad and it would be quelled somewhat if he spent.

Interested what else people hold against him.

What I take from that is at least the club are looking at midfielders, an area that needs strengthening, I'm all for it but we don't need more shit piled on a squad full of shit.

The squad really isn't sh!t. That just makes no sense and is actually an insult to the players.

What this particular squad is short of are players that are above average or better put who perform at a high standard often enough.

We have gone from a team where players were excelling and pushing others to a team and squad which fails to or is incapable of pushing itself. That's leadership or quality of performance. We have neither too much of the time.

If Conte wants to be the leader of that change then he will have to accept the constraints that will be put on him.

That is not to say he should go silent with his desire to see the club make signings or hide his frustration but he knows we aren't one of the very big spenders.

My view is that in Conte we have a winner. In someone like Potter as an obvious British choice but maybe also the likes of the Brentford manager they might have been better models for our club but of course there is nothing to say they can become winners.

PL football is in a funny state. Right now its overall standard is average in my opinion but we also know the likes of Newcastle, City, Chelsea and United in particular will carry on spending unless they are controlled by spending caps, which for the future of PL football will be essential in my opinion.

I just don’t think he has the clubs best interests at the forefront of his scheming.

From hiring of players , staff it always seems to be the cheap option . He was forced to get Conte in due to his monumental fuck up with Papa Smurf. Imagine having a employee who “ hates” doing his job in the winter transfer window ?! It’s his fucking job , where the passion , the drive. He should be out on his arse for saying that alone , not to mention his apparent woeful knowledge of players.

His behaviour in trying to get cheap deals by leaving it late.
Trying to simultaneously squeeze big bucks for our players.
Some truly shocking manager appointments.
The covid contriversies
The list goes on and on
