Di Marzio hinting that we won't be looking at experienced older players like Brozovic and De Vrij. Shame, look at what an experienced defender like Silva did to that Chelsea defence. Our defence is in desperate need of not only a leader but of world-class quality/experience too.

Exactly the opposite was reported last week by a so-called 'reliable' source (can't remember who now!)....

I'd just see how the cards fall

Have a feeling we wont be getting Vlahovic.
Feels as though he’s getting dangerously close to Haaland prestige.
Another boat missed.

Will Paratici be banged up if he returns to Italy? If not, he should be living outside his agents gaff, chucking the bribes around until he commits

We should blast every Covid riddled foreign side out of the transfer scramble, only risk is Liverpool, Villa or Newcastle either flexing or outbidding us

One of the University of Alabamas best ever quarter backs is Tua Tagovailoa.
Tongans, or Polynesians in general, seem to be cut from a different cloth. Former WCW pro wrestler Meng was apparnetly used as some form of Nuclear threat in whatever locker room he worked in. No one dared to start shit if he was working because he was supposedly unstoppable if you pissed him off.

We could do with a HG goalkeeper as the number two to be honest, such a waste of a slot otherwise.

(I don't know if Gollini is HG or not by the way)
Didn't spend enough time at United AFAIK.

Hopefully signs a new contract then goes out and smashes it out on loan.

IMO He isn't getting in the side any time soon tbh, I'd wager if it is a loan there will be an option to buy with a hefty sell on percentage or a first option etc.

Wouldn't blame him for leaving to get first team football, also linked with Forest, Stoke and Blackburn.

2 years, not 3.

Why?

If the club want him to 'do a Skipp' (which is what's being reported), then presumably they can see a pathway for him (which is also being reported).

More risk of losing out financially with experienced players makes that par for the course with ENIC.

Even though more experience is something the squad is crying out for IMO.

If we lose out on Vlahavic, and he turns out to be a decent striker, this illustrates exactly why taking less money for Kane and taking advantage of cut price deals in Italy is exactly what we should have done in the summer.

But too many people couldn't let go of pride and ego and were wedded to an OTT "minimum price" we should have accepted for Kane.

If we'd accepted £80-£100m for him, we could feasibly have signed Vlahavic AND Martinez in the summer, not had Kane lumbering about and had 2 players who's value could increase,
Instead, we refused to deal on Kane, didn't replace him, and now have a player who simply isn't worth £80m anymore and can't afford either of the replacements we identified, let alone both.

If people still can't understand the opportunity we passed up through sheer stubbornness, then I hope you're not in charge of your families finances.

FFS!!!!!

1. City bid 75m + add ons.
2. That doesn't come close to paying for Vlahovic & Martinez.
3. Inter refused to sell LM & Atletico also had their offer for DV knocked back in the summer.

If people still can't understand the opportunity we passed up through sheer stubbornness, then I hope you're not in charge of your families finances.

I hope your families finances aren't based on self-concocted fantasy.... Else I see a cold winter in their future before too long.

On 3 March 1989, Haku got into an altercation with some men at a Baltimore Airport bar who called wrestling "fake", and during the fight, Haku bit off the nose of one of the men. Haku stated, "Yeah. It was in Baltimore Airport...me and Siva Afi went over and there were lots of babyfaces there at the bar. So we went and sat in the other corner away from them. When they were ready to close, we had a few drinks, and on our way out there were five guys just sitting there. Of course, the same thing came out. The 'fake' stuff. 'Hey, are you guys with those guys – wrestlers? The fake wrestlers on TV?' You know. I said, 'Yeah. I'll show you.' And I reached over without thinking – there are four other guys there (laughs) – grabbed his face, and bit his nose off. Then the fight started. Me and Siva kind of cleaned house there and left. I'll never forget it."[51]

In a shoot interview Bobby Heenan talked extensively about Meng and referred to him as the toughest man he has ever met. The most extreme story he shared was in regards to a bar fight in which he claimed Meng "took his two fingers on his right hand, his index finger and trigger finger, and he reached into the guy's mouth and he broke off the guy's bottom teeth." Heenan said that if he hadn't been there and seen it himself, he wouldn't believe it. Heenan was also close friends with Andre the Giant and claimed that the only two men in the world that Andre feared were Meng and Harley Race.[52] Heenan also praised Haku as a good-hearted family man.

Kevin Sullivan told a story to WWE Classics about the time when he and Haku went to a tavern to grab a few beers before heading to their hotel. According to Sullivan, it was obvious that he and Meng weren't locals, so when they walked into the bar, a guy playing pool insulted Meng. "The next thing I know is that Meng goozles the guy like Mr. Spock," Sullivan said. "It was fast and furious. He then grabbed another guy who tried to get involved and knocked him unconscious." After that, things got even crazier. "Meng bit through the guy's shirt like a wolf, bit a chunk out of the guy's back, then spit it on the floor," he said. "I said, 'It's time to go.'" Sullivan said that as they drove from the bar he saw police cars pulling into the parking lot, but authorities didn't pursue them and no charges were ever filed.[53]

Wrestler Shane Douglas said in a shoot interview that one would be better off fighting the US Army than fighting Haku. He spoke about an incident when he witnessed several cops trying to hold Haku down and one of them struck Haku with a baton on his face while the others emptied their cans of mace on him but nothing seemed to faze Haku.[54]
