Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yet we'd easily get £20m+ now for PEH
I'd argue that his current valuation has more to do with him playing (every dang minute) at Spurs than it has to do with historic valuation.

Having said this, I do appreciate the value of utility (it's why I've defended Sissoko and Aurier in the past), and PEH cannot be faulted for always being available for selection.

.....And in actuality. As back-up striker he scored a bunch of goals in the cups and allowed us to rest Kane.

No-one's making the argument that we should have bought him; just that our trf window left us 2 attacking players lighter than the season before.

See above.... The point is about how many; not whom.

...I'm not sure you really have the drift of the discussion here.

Our trf window.

2 x AMs + 1 x ST out / 1 x AM in.

= -2 attacking players.
Paratici had to make space by clearing out the old to bring in the new.

A squad turnover process takes several windows.

Gold says no money Jan - no fn shock. Levy just lies from one shocking disaster to another. Conte will throw in the towel and levy will do what levy does. Pay him off to be quiet and bring in somone else with the promise of funds which won't appear.

Levy the man who built the worlds best factory but didn't bother with the machinery.

Sold Eriksen late, will sell kane late, let Dembele leave, bought Sanchez, sissoko Ndombele, GLC and Bergwyjn..... How much?

Fckd us good and proper and won't fn leave! Utter cnt!

Well even if we were going to spend big, it'd be foolish to let the market know...

Spend big!!! That fn twat levy won't spend until we sell, and he won't sell the duds he bought because the useless unkle fester cnt thinks he can get the money back.... Who would buy sanchez for 40? Bergwyn for 30 Ndombullshit for 55.... Newcastle hopefully, but I doubt it.

We desperately need need a MFr who can pass run and just make things happen. That's either money or a brilliant DoF....

Maybe the memo went to your spam folder?

I really would like Spurs to sign Joško Gvardiol as LCB. He won't come cheap but Spurs could have a LCB for the next 12-14 years if they managed to sign him.

We would be in sooooo much shit without Hjojberg, like it or not. He has been everpresent in the team since arriving. Less than 17 mil for him is good deal and he would move for more today.

As I pointed out, it wasn't 17m, more like 26-31m when you factor in the KWP/Doherty part.

He was an improvement on Sissoko, but that is saying incredibly little. I would have been. He has a good attitude, but I think we could have been in even less shit if we'd bought a midfielder with better mobility, press resistance and footballing ability.

As it was, we actually finished even lower last year than the previous year. Hojbjerg hardly catapulted our midfield into being good. He was pretty gash for much of 2021.

...And as subsequently pointed out; you're wrong on that Blakey.

We'd also have been better of if we'd bought better players instead of Ndombele & Gio too (much like you could apply that logic to ANY player in the squad), but you seemingly have a blind-spot for them and opt to criticize the player we expected less of to begin with (just like Sissoko before him).... Regardless, this debate started off on the basis of VFM remember.

PEH 15m vs Ndombele 60m......

To cast PEH as the let down here is BS.

Ditto GLC at 42m.

Pinning that decline on him is bogus; just like pinning the decline on Sissoko was.

Do you think Watford is any stronger this season with Højbjerg instead of Sissoko?

Impossible to answer either way, but...

Its good to have some realiable decent players you can mostly count on to be a available.

My opinion, or the failure of Ndombele and Lo Celso to establish themselves does not let Hojbjerg off the hook for his deficiencies.

Hojbjerg was not 15m.

Pinning that decline on him is bogus; just like pinning the decline on Sissoko was.

Buy poor players, decline. Sissoko definitely contributed to that. Never said he was the only reason. Far from it. we made a bunch of bad recruitment choices going back the last 5/6 years.

Hojbjerg was an improvement on Sissoko for sure, but he isn't great at anything.
