He's that good now that he will not join Spurs to be an understudy - even to Kane. And he's got plenty of top clubs to choose from - where he'll be a starter.
I am certainly not against the idea though

Bale as part of a front 3 and Moura to RWB could work. Mourinho had Moura behind those 3 for about 4 games last year and we looked great going forward, I can’t remember who against apart from Burnley. Then he bottled it against Woolwich and dropped Bale. Anyway it’s a yes from me but I expect Conte wants those with more energy in their legs. Bale could also play 9

Bale scores goals and is comfortable on the ball and allows rotation of the front players. We need both of these, short term and medium term (he’s clearly short term)

Coutinho had two really good seasons at Liverpool then proceeded to not be able to handle the pressure of playing for Barca. Worry he is another high paid player we would need to pay 200-300 a week for, who really doesn’t care enough about winning or losing as long as he is getting paid. His time at Barca unfortunately seems to allude to that.

Is Adama Traore almost like a reverse-Moneyball player in that he's exciting and gets attention but has incredibly bad underlying stats (i.e. he doesn't get on base)?

Having said that, baseball and football are very different and I'd be interested to see if Conté could coach some better decision making into him and/or he'd put up better numbers around better players. If he actually managed to improve him, he'd double in value overnight with that pace and strength already in his locker.
 
So looks like Woolwich are getting close on Isak. An exciting young striker in, in time to play a series of tricky January games.
Will we do the same? Will we get our signings in early with our similarly tricky month ahead?
Will we fuck. If any arrive, it will be at month end.

Yeah, I'd rather wait until summer than panic buy Traore in January. He's exciting to watch at times but you can't ignore his stats season after season. We certainly don't need someone who barely scores or creates.

I’m not sure we need someone who scores or creates assists to be honest…. We need someone to dictate the game and get our scorers on the run early eg Carrick or Modric, more than a third goal scoring striker

In my opinion we need an Eriksen replacement first and foremost. Someone who can thread a through ball and create something from nothing. A James Maddison type. Adama Traore certainly isn't that.
