Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My post , which didn't quote you or anyone else for that, quite clearly stated, we are on day 6 and have done nothing different to anyone.
You chose to quote me and say that the other teams don't need to but we do.

If you'd said "it's ok not to sign anyone on day 6, but signing no one this window is gross negligence" then you'd have a point. But you didn't.
And i said we are in a different situation to them. Klopp , Arteta, Moyes, Rodgers wont walk if they're not backed. Anyone that expected anything within the first week/10 days is naive but if we come out of January without at least 1 improvement to the first team then what we do the rest of this season and where that leaves Conte sort of feels inevitable.

To some degree I can forgive Ndombele and Lo Celso as they clearly are talented, it was difficult to tell Lo Celso would be a crock and Ndombele would give up the moment he got his big fat contract.

Son: success
Lucas: success
Lamela: not a failure, very important in big games, would have been a big success if he wasn’t injured half the time
Regulion: £27m for a average left back is probably about right in todays market, £40-50 for a top one.

The rest have underperformed relative to price.

Lamela who cost £30m by the way (back in 2013 when that was a lot of money) bagged 30 goals for Roma in Serie A and went on to score 18 in 7 seasons at Spurs

Lucas as I said has a 1/6 record as a forward since he's been here.

Regulion - jury is still out I guess.

Maybe bring him over here and get him a Skipp style loan to the champo next season.

We've already seen with Ndombele and many others..... The jump to the EPL from France for a CM is HUGE!
I'm very wary of any and all signings from the French league. It's turbo gash, or perhaps its just our scouting department.

Either way us and the French league with a couple of notable exceptions is water and oil.

Simplistic view. We’ve been grossly mismanaged for years and completely under invested so you can’t compare us vs peers based on 7 days. We are desperate and should have paid to move deals over the line (offset by the historic frugality)

Has it ever ocurred to you that the reason NO ONE signs many players, in anty January window, is that no one wants to sell their players in January. I'm fed up with posting it - look back for yourself at all the January windows. There is much more deadwood clearing from PL than there is squad strengthening.
More money for players is stupid, maybe we should have paid £70m for Ndombele to do that deal earlier? Would that make you happier? Or maybe we should have given Betis the £60m they wanted for GLC to get him at the start of the window that year rather than after a couple of games, that would have been money well spent, eh?
You know fully well I don't support how the club has been run, but acting like a spoilt brat because we haven't pissed away a load of money on bang average players no one else wants in the first weak of the window is childish.

That's just a long way of saying that you do disagree with me and you do think we should have signed players already, despite responding and asking where you said you said that.

I think their manager rates Podence Neto Chan Trinaco above him.
We will get him for even cheaper if its this summer, so they have incentive to sell him now for 20m

This 20m is fan theory..... It's meaningless.

The window kicked off with tweets that they weren't interested in selling and that it would take a big offer to get him.

They wanted something in the region of 40m just 5 months ago..... That should give you some idea what constitutes a "big offer" in this scenario.

This is getting tedious now. Of course its difficult doing deals in January, is there anyone saying its not? However there are a ton of good players out of contract come summer, a lot of them in Serie A so it should not be impossible to get a good player or two at a knock down fee, much like Inter did with Eriksen. You called people spoilt brats, just going along with the shit we've had to endure for 2.5 years is perverse. Wanting change is not being spoilt. Its wanting something a bit more substancial for the highest ticket prices in the world. Whether its buying them first week or on deadline day we need to do something.
