Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I haven't seen such tiring transfer window. Maybe we have too many expectations? Or do we fear that Conte will walk? With all due respect, I don't think it's possible, at least till the summer. Anyhow, 2 or 3 signings would be enough, ideally CF and RWB.

It's a hard window and let's not get too ahead of ourselves. I know we are spending not enough, but summer will be very active, as everybody is saying.

COYS. Be more positive.
Too many expectations?

2 strikers at the club? Shift players that have been here for eons, and buy some sensible new ones?

Thats not high expectations

Not solely no but I think the vast majority of our revenue we receive from match day would be reinvested in the team. Where do you think the TV money is going and the sponsorship deal money? How do you expect to pay back the money that was borrowed to build the project?

Hence why Levy said that stadium costs wouldn't affect spending, its not difficult to understand the strategy here what they are trying to do in terms of using the money received from the profits on transfers.

I just read your other post, you said that this £1b stadium isnt a financial burden, this isn't a serious conversation is it. 🤦‍♀️
You're financially illiterate.

We have to pay back 25m per year on the stadium debt. No point refering to it as a 1bn investment as if that matters.

So yes we can spend 25m less than we otherwise could potentially on players. That's the sum total of the impact. So we can't buy a Chris Wood or an Emerson each year. It's no excuse for no business.

There's no doubt the biggest hit we've taken is going from 4 years of CL riches to next to nothing. The ropey league and the paint trophy are so insignificant in money it probably costs us more to employ back up players to play in it than we make from it.
If a £1b stadium is a financial burden, why build it? We've seen the way it's been financed, it's like 50 years with a bubble at the end - ENIC have done it so it's not their problem. Obviously a year with no fans wasn't desirable and set us back a year. But given we have by far the highest ticket prices, and it's not like we had been used to that income for years prior, we can't claim to have been hit any harder than anyone else from now one. It's been open all this season, sold out the allocation of season tickets, had boxing, NFL etc.
How long can Levy keep up the pretence we were hit any harder than anyone else because of covid?

If we want to get back into money making, we need to be back in the champions league. And we can't do that signing D bucket players.

No doubt you'll quote yet another boring spreadsheet showing net spend on fees and again you'll miss that we pay a tiny fraction on wages compared to every single team in the league. The lowest fee to income ratio in the entire premier league.
If you support that last fact, you are just an ENIC fan, a basic person who thinks breaking even is more important than success and on a fast track to my ignore list.

Interesting comments from Conte about Ndombele.

I do wonder if players who are signed with add ons are sometimes benched in order to avoid paying the add ons.
He's obviously not lived up to the hype. The reports suggest he cost up to £60m with add ons. What are those add ons?
perhaps he decided to drop him permanently due to his attitude in the previous game, but before making that decision he needs to consult with the club as it could impact his value. They agreed and he's saying as much.

I don't for one minute believe he was being told to not play him, of course this could actually be the case as they are close to selling him, and don't want an unnecessary injury. We will never know...

My comment about that situation was about all players for all clubs who have certain add ons. I've often wondered if it happened and those comments made me more suspicious.

Even then, there is no juicy alt. conspiracy to be found in a club directive not to play him.....

There's no other conceivable motive apart from those you mentioned.

Given how few games Romero has played for us I'm starting to wonder of we're looking at ways to get out of it.
And if he ends up like Lo Noshow I wouldn't be against that.

Actual CFs?

Man City.
Chavs
WHAM

I'm guessing you - like me- don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of most euro club' squads either so I'd guess plenty more too.
City will soon have two if we continue like this. They basically always had two or even three and Silva is a false 9 this season.
Chelsea have Lukaku and Werner. And yes, even if shit, Werner is a centre forward.
West Ham - you got one. And they have been crying out for another one as us because Antonio is injury prone just like Kane nowadays.

Even Bayern, Inter or Real have Choupo-Moting, Dzeko or Jovic. No need for the striker to be world class. I dont get how we dont even loan one in. The current side is so short of goal scorers.

Hahaha - watch him squirm and lie now
