Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Would be handy if the loan is completed before the close of the window :deledoubt:

PSG have to raise cash? PSG?:deledoubt:
Their entire interest is a game with FFP and their attempts to re-sign Mbappe. Ndombele and Mbappe are reportedly friends and even on his absurd wages he’d still be a cheaper option in their midfield. They’re trying to ensure they can offer him more than Real Madrid.

It’s a tricky and somewhat shady deal, and therefore one in which having Paratici being the guy on the phone rather than Levy or Hitchen is a big plus.

But we just have to do whatever the final offer is. The situation can only improve with him out the door, even if he’s back in July.

Either Newcastle are going to wake up and find that they managed to assemble a Frankenstein's monster squad of has-been's that all simultaneously regain their form, or their first foray into spending big will be a car crash of great entertainment.
they are going to stay up... and it's only going to get worse from there... we should spend big now, before Newcastle start buying the league. We have a window to win a trophy now.

Standard MO of these doping projects. Spend big on names. Players with both the name and current form aren't going to come, they have better opportunities. You have to spend big on the names to prove you're serious about competing and willing to pay ridiculous wages.

I don't see how we've paid twice as much per week for Ndombele's services these past few years than Lo Celso's. Gio should feel hard done by...
We got stitched up like dickheads. Supposedly the hottest midfielder in Europe. We gave him a fat contract and he turned into a fat sack of shit.

Without doubt our most disappointing signing ever.

I'd like your help please transfer junkies.

I'm working on the translation of the latest version of the basketball version of Football Manager.

There's this message that literally reads as "Team XXX have rudely rejected your offer for the transfer of..."

What's the typical expression that journos use when Team XXX tells Team YYY to fuck off, like when Levy makes his initial derisory offer? I know "rudely rejected" sounds crap bu I can't think of the normal way of saying it

I can see the assessment of 'how well/badly we've done' this window will include both outgoings as well as incoming.

Here's the outgoings story :

Ndombele @ £200k pw = £10m pa and with 3.5 years left on contract £35m
Lo Celso @ £90k pw ......... £4.5m pa and with 3.5 years let on contract £16m
Dele @ £180k pw ...............,,£9m pa and with 2 years left on contract £18m
Total ..... £470k pw ............ £23.5m pa ..........................................................£69m

We could get a couple of players for free (or even a top striker such as Dusan Vlahovic) with wages saved over the rest of their contracts. And free up squad places

If all 3 midfielders left in January, given their limited playing time this season, would we be able to cover their games with just one incoming midfielder - possibly with Harvey White/Nile John/Alfie Devine getting minutes as well ?
Dele is on 180K A WEEK?! This just fucks me off so much. What a twat. What a massive, massive twat.

Yes, but we can still get our head through that cat door in the next year or so.
Eh. I'm skeptical Newcastle will ever get the lift, honestly. Every player they'll be in for will also have offers from Chelsea and City. Who the fuck wants to go to Newcastle?

So I think we'll always have the cat door's chance of a trophy. The biggest threat to us with Newcastle is cutting off our top 4 chances by making it impossible for us to access the next tier of players as they take our spot in the LFC/United/Woolwich recruitment competition.

We're wishing on a magic billionaire in terms of ridding ourselves of ENIC.

But Joe Lewis and the other shareholders will soon need to remove Levy from his executive oversight of the club for the very un-romantic and un-glory hunting reason that his narcissistic megalomania, disgusting unprofessionalism, and just basic incompetence is going to lose them all a ton of money on the asset value of their shares.

Bringing in a proper professional to be the chief executive of the club as an employee will be key to recouping the stadium investment. Levy is tanking the business.
I’ve no real problem with levy

It’s that soulless prick Lewis I can’t abide

But that's exactly what will happen... Top 4 will become like it was in the naughties... this time it'll be Chelsea, City, Newcastle and probably Liverpool... or Man U if they get their act together - if they manage to find someone who can channel the money they're spending into good football that is.

Newcastle will find a way to win everything. They have the money of a country behind them. I heard a rumour on the radio that they will pay for a private jet to ferry players up and down from London, so players can hang out in the capitol city when they want to... (rumour - totally unconfirmed - but they could afford it).
