Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Dele not on that much surely? Most sources say £100k, which is still too much.

As the chant goes, he only cost £5mill, he also scored a good number of goals over several seasons so although he has been poor for a while (which began when he was played out of position under Poch because we didn’t have signings) in the grand scheme of things his wages dont offend me. Whereas the money that Ndombelle and Aurier spunked out of transfer budget (signing on fee, wages & resale value) is boadering on theft.

I'd like your help please transfer junkies.

I'm working on the translation of the latest version of the basketball version of Football Manager.

There's this message that literally reads as "Team XXX have rudely rejected your offer for the transfer of..."

What's the typical expression that journos use when Team XXX tells Team YYY to fuck off, like when Levy makes his initial derisory offer? I know "rudely rejected" sounds crap bu I can't think of the normal way of saying it
Rebuffed?

You need to show strong interest.

I was edging closer.

The other issue is if our top target is Kessie or Dybala etc and we can't get them till the summer do we get our second choice in now or wait? I suppose a 6 month loan of a decent player would be good in that instance?

then if they do well, we'd want them too?

Eh. I'm skeptical Newcastle will ever get the lift, honestly. Every player they'll be in for will also have offers from Chelsea and City. Who the fuck wants to go to Newcastle?

So I think we'll always have the cat door's chance of a trophy. The biggest threat to us with Newcastle is cutting off our top 4 chances by making it impossible for us to access the next tier of players as they take our spot in the LFC/United/Woolwich recruitment competition.
As much as it physically pains me to give them any credit, and while it’s obvious there are pretty significant loopholes, I think the evidence is growing that FFP has changed behavior.

Newcastle can’t do it the way Chelsea and City did without forgoing Champions League football for an indefinite period.

We’re well positioned to compete at the very top of the sport, IF we can maintain high ticket demand and make ourselves regulars in the CL, both of which are rapidly slipping away.

Oh, and of course if we fire all of the executive leadership of the club and entirely transform the way we do business and the organizational commitment to sporting integrity. That too.

While I agree with the sentiment on transfers - how has losing at Stamford Bridge made top 4 any less in our sights? We always lose there.

We are still very much in the running. Romero and Son will be a huge boost to the first XI.
Bergjwin is 'like a new signing'.
Traore will be a big problem for opposition.

I think we have worse individuals but a better team and manager than United. I think we should be favourites for 4th now.

Add 1/2 more additions after Traore and there's no reason we can't go on another great run.
A point from Chelsea would have been great, now our advantage is getting smaller and we've shown in the past to not seize this sort of advantage.

I don't think Bergjwin is like a new signing, however I want him to be, and if we do get Traore I can see us only getting some youngster in as well. Nobody else.

What evidence have you seen for FFP? Because I'm not sure I've seen any... A despotic country with enough money for world domination has just bought Newcastle, with barely any questions asked... They likely have a lair in a volcano, a shark tank and plans for a death-ray in space. We have no hope.

Wtf is going on… this Fiorentina midfielder has started 1 game so far this season, 10 appearances from the bench:

He seems to be the 3rd or 4th best player on a fairly mediocre Fiorentina team why would we have any interest in this guy?

He also seems to add a lot of what we have, hard work defensive play zero passing quality and zero creativity. He doesn't appear to be able to take on the deep lying playmaker role, isn't a creative number 10-ish (I know Conte doesn't use a 10). He seems to a lesser version of PEH and Skipp so another Winks?
