Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Tottenham are considering going back in for Nottingham Forest loanee Djed Spence, claim Sky Sports.

THE LOWDOWN: SPENCE PROFILED

Spence is on loan at The City Ground from Middlesbrough and is primarily a right-back who can also play as a right midfielder.

Labelled as a ‘massive player’ by Sky Sports pundit Jobi McAnuff, the 21-year-old has made 22 appearances for Forest and helped them defeat Woolwich in the FA Cup earlier this month.

Reports in recent weeks suggested that Antonio Conte was close to signing the Englishman, and it now appears as if Spurs could go back in for Spence after a move for Adama Traore collapsed.

THE LATEST: SKY SPORTS CLAIM
According to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre, relayed by Football League World, Spurs are weighing up another move for Spence.

The update claims that even though Tottenham won’t be able to use the player this season, they are still considering a late January swoop.

THE VERDICT: GOOD NEWS
Out of all the Forest players who have played 15 or more games this season, Spence has been the best, as per WhoScored, so a late winter window deal ahead of the summer could be an exciting one.

He’s clearly an impressive young talent, and who knows, he could fit the right-wing back mould Conte wanted Traore in over the coming years.

Missing out on Spence now could also be a risk ahead of the summer, especially with Transfermarkt believing Woolwich, Inter Milan and Roma are circling – securing a deal now could be extremely beneficial for the long-term future under Conte.

Clearly our whole budget has been bid on someone not willing to join us, on 27th Jan.

If you can stop melting about Diaz you'll realise my post had NOTHING to do with this at all.

There are dozen of good suggestions, in this thread and others, for upgrades who would come in and if not up to it, could be loaned summer and not even cause a ripple to our overall financial status.

Did I say there are no players to sign?

NO.

STFU, you acid-ravaged crank.

We consider too much.

I posted a long comment in response to John some time yesterday.

In short we'll have had a full year of match day revenue, with DOF and manager at the club for close to the whole season, and it'll be a summer window.

I'm not saying it will be different, but it should be, as the excuses will have been well and truly exhausted
Unfortunately , there will always be an excuse , you know it , I know it , and so does everyone else by now

I see a lot of youse saying we got Tanner and Amrabat. But neither has signed yet so...we could still end up with fucking nobody.

I genuinely believe we'll get 2 or 3 come deadline time. Levy & Fabio will act all happy, proud and cool, and as if they were priority targets all along. When in fact Fabio will have signed them at the death (and probably overpaying) just to prove he's done his job, but he'll be shitting bricks whenever he's in the same room as AC
Stopped reading at youse.

Other clubs must look at our transfer strategy and laugh. Anybody else get embarrassed when we drag out transfers and another club comes in and has it done in days?

"I don't know why everybody's complaining we gave it a good try!"

Do it…..if true

I reckon we'll get 2 or 3 as well but if they dont improve the first team then its nigh on pointless. Reckon its loans or kids for next season now. I'd still love to think they're sensing the unrest so will splurge on 1 first team level player but unless its completely out of the blue its difficult to see who that is.
Even one out of a proper CM or a RWB would actually make a huge difference. You never know.
