Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It is a bad idea to replace trash with more trash. The goal is to net reduce trash.

You'd think the words net reduce would excite Levy. But he only cares about reducing cash outflow, not trash inflow.
Yeah but let's give the new boys a chance first? This club is experts at signing players everyone is excited about who end up being major flops. Ndombele, LoCelso and Sess in one window are perfect examples, so many more over the years.

Yes we need new owners and a new recruitment department

Seems to be so many experts on here who know more about players than actually scouts, managers and directors of footballers do.

Makes you wonder why they are sat on TFC at 2pm on a weekday and not working for a top European club.

I will be more excited if we just give the youth oppotunities. Why no play White instead of sign this Amrabat guy? Or even Markanday could be a better choice than Kulusevski.

Because those who do tend to be very well connected, and rich.

I sincerely believe Levy doesn't know more about football than I do. Arguably even modern business, but that's arguable. He's a clown who got rich off some luck and past, not some business genius came from nothing guy.

I can feel it coming, we'll try to make a last minute move for Dejan Kulusevski, it will fall apart because he'll go somewhere else or they won't want to lose him and Morata.

Amrabat deal won't be done because we won't shift any of the three midfielders we're trying to sell.

No rwb because we won't shift Doherty.

We'll bring in a last-minute yet to be named attacking player
Kulusevski felt like an obvious link after the Diaz move fell apart. I like him but some performances for Juve have been a worry. Good option to have right of the front three though, and I wonder if he could play the Barella role in 3-5-2

For many, honestly, the transfer window has overtaken the football as the actual product. A lot of people care more about signing names and imagining results off the back of it and "showing ambition" than the actual results transfers produce.

It’s the nature of money and the corrupting affect on the game. Even Fergies United where broke arse low spenders compared to the like of City and Chelsea. United had an amazing first 11 but players like John O’Shea on the bench and much of that first 11 came from the academy.

Now a days you can’t do Jack shit without a deep squad. Even our best 11 under Poch was killed because we had crap bench players so no cover or rest for the first 11. Without massive spending you can’t compete unless you opt for the long term Potter model at Brighton, Conte however is a 2-3 year man. You give him the squad today because he will be off tomorrow if you don’t.

The club want a Ritz steak on McDonald’s prices and thus we are where we are. Either they pay Ritz prices or they opt for a model that works with McDonalds. If we wanted cheap we should have got Potter or Ten Hag, going for Conte, massive spending is a requirement and a huge window now and the summer is needed otherwise why get Conte?

If Conte wants him and feels like he can mold him to do a role in the side - like he has done with many "bang average" players in the past then I am all in.

Couldn't give a fuck what Juve fans are saying
juventus won't sell kulusevsky because they are short in attacking players (chiesa got injured for the rest of the season)
Ed Vanderlay conte wanted him at inter times

At the end of January, we will have signed one non-league player for a bag of magic beans and the promise of a friendly from the "legends" and have Rafa Benitez in charge when Conte says "f**k this sh*tshow.

We 100% should be strengthening our team.

We should not be buying people's bench players or those that have struggled somewhat.

The big clubs go and buy other clubs first team players.

Like someone else alluded to, we buy these dregs, they turn out to be shit then we can't shift them. Who knew.
