Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Wish I knew more about the Dele add ons and the Lo Celso option. It’s a bit hard to assess.

I also wish we’d been willing to “spend” more giving Lyon an Ndombele option they might theoretically take.

Our outgoings in a vacuum (an improper way to assess them) were a positive, but depending on a couple of pieces we don’t know and some we do, perhaps not THAT positive.

I am happy a clearout of players Conte doesn’t want has happened. That was more crucial for Poch than some remember.

summer is the real test imo

we need to properly back him with whoever he needs

will we do it who knows but as a fan im hoping we back this world class manager and give him the tools to make tottenham into the force we all know we can be

jan is a hard month no doubt about it conte wanted these 2 in and no doubt para too

both seem hardworking and willing to put in a shift for us at the very least

only way is up for us

i will literally throw a gauntlet on here if we come to sept with conte not backed because then we truly know levy is liar

Either or both of Traore and Diaz would have been good. Neither working out due to Barca and Liverpool coming in for them respectively... I'm not going to beat Paratici up too much for that.

I think Kulusevski and Bentancur might actually do well for us despite the lack of hype for either. Combining that with Conté's naughty list being shown the door via loan or sale and I think it's reasonable to say he should recognise we're trying to back him (big 'pending' on that depending on what happens in the summer of course).

Just to add: our main rivals for that 4th spot have either done less than us or actively weakened, which we can also view as a positive.

I haven't seen the value on the option to buy but I agree I think GLC could fit well there and if it is reasonable they could easily trigger it.

i hate levy with all my heart with how we dropped from 2017 to now

its a crime on this great football club

even me spouting my nonsense sometimes about getting loads in

i sometimes have to look at the bigger picture here, we cleared our garbage of wages

we freed up alot of spaces in the side now

honest to god as my witness

levy will get full barrels from me and i would hazard a guess alot of the supporters if conte isnt backed in the summer

there is no reason why we shouldnt back him levy has no excuses

back this world class manager or fuck off and let someone else back this manager

coming on reflection for this, the window was great in terms of outgoings getting rid of the lazy payers on high wages awesome 10/10 easily

for me the incomings while decent dont fill the areas we need

benty is basically just the same ones we have got with a bit more ability

for dujan i dont see the rw as his long term position if we could get him behind kane that is where the magic will happen

my only dissapointment is not getting someone in to fill a position we need

Yeah, I'm still on the Fuck Daniel Levy thing.

Since the CL final he's literally done one good thing for the club in signing Conte, especially if you don't let the glitz and glamour of the stadium blind you, and even that might backfire if he ends up walking.

...and in all honesty, for the all the Old Guard our there, is it better than WHL? Serious question because I've been stuck due to Covid

I’m just saying there’s a bit of luck required in run in or any season. Have to stay healthy, win a few games that maybe you shouldn’t have, etc.

We’ll see what happens, I’m positive about Kulu and Bentancur and I think I see the way in which they will contribute and improve the squad. If they are totally shit and it seems like Conte doesn’t actually fancy them, then I’m happy to change my opinion on how he was backed this window.

I only said I thought it was a 6 or a 7 out of 10 window, we could have done more but I think it’s way OTT the way some are throwing their toys out of the pram and acting like we’ve done nothing.

It was never on the cards to make every single change we needed in January, we need 5 or 6 players at least. We’ve made a decent start at that, but getting every single thing Conte needs was always a two window challenges. I’m sure some will suggest that is “lacking ambition” but I think it’s just logical. No team has ever made wholesale changes in a January window. We’ve made a decent start and bought two players who should plug into the squad immediately, I think that’s a solid effort for January. 6/10.

I get what you are saying about throwing toys out of the pram. But equally people want it both ways. Has he been backed enough to get top 4? Either yes or no. You think yes but equally I feel like you won’t be critical of conte if we don’t.

Funny old window and we were royally shafted on Diaz just like we were a few years ago on Fernandes when we thought we had a deal with Sporting. Presidents make the calls with the agents and we did it by the book but that is football transfers in a nutshell.
Sets us up great for Summer window where we will be doing our business as i explained before AC will be supported and backed or else there was no point in bringing him in. No secret that he prefers a smaller tighter squad of people that want to die for him on the pitch and he definitely has that. The RWB has been identified and will be brought in then too. Traore couldn't do what we want at RWB so that's why that didn't happen. Cheers all before i say too much

I didn't expect it when he joined but, considering it's already in our own hands, and we've had a better window than the 3 clubs we're competing with..... i'm starting to expect that we will finish in the top 4.

We've technically added 2 players to our squad and got rid of 3 that haven't even been considered as options recently.

Arse and United have done nothing but unload players. While West Hams squad is already thin and they haven't added either.

I think most Spurs fans want genuine, indisputable upgrades who come in and can be immediately expected to improve the team. I don't think that this is an unreasonable expectation (Or wouldn't be, at almost any other club with our revenue streams) but it appears that is the way some feel. If we had such a window, I'm almost certain the fans would applaud it.
