Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’ve no idea who is lying, if anyone, but as Airfixx Airfixx has pointed out, Mourinho was sacked four months before Kim moved to Fener. So unless he’s a time traveller, someone is bullshitting or wrong.. Or he may simply have his teams wrong and meant to say Beijing not Fener.
So there is no motive for lying from either Romano or Jose?

I interpreted the sequence of events Jose was talking about as meaning Spurs placed an unsuccessful bid for KMJ in the January window before he actually joined his new club or a window before that.

Why would Jose want to embellish or lie about these matters after the event?

Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me....

It’s already been posted that Jose never said Fener, but Romero included it in actual quotation marks, probably to add substance to the post. Which it didn’t.

So. Yes, Romero lied by “quoting” something that was never said.

Edit - I’m not convinced Jose is telling the truth either.

At least ride with him here til the Summer. Richy & Son still struggling.... 3 comps... So much ball to play still..... We're not gonna rush out and get anyone else before Wed.

I s'pose we have a problem now with Paratici's influence fading or altogether binned... i.e. there's no-one to advocate for these young lads like Gil, Sarr, Spence if Conte can't be arsed and wants rid . :(
Such a shame.

He's not a starter, and still raw talent, but he showed v Palace that beyond Kulu he's our most creative player. He does have a few moments of magic in him.

We need a new DOF.... FAST!

Buying players is one thing (and you'd hope that identifying quality players will trancend manager), but letting Conte shape our outgoing business even though it's quite likely he won't be here in August would be madness.

So if they said Yes to 12 million we offered, Levy would have said No?

I wasn't disputing any of this. I was explaining, we could've had Tomiyasu for 18 million but we haggled (call it what you want). Someone felt Emerson was better at 22 million. Who is that someone? That is what I'm eluding to. That someone is "Daniel Levy". He decides who he feels is a better potential.

We sold Edwards when Poch said he is potentially the next Messi. And some say Poch sanctioned it. Now Edwards is worth a pretty penny. Daniel is happy cause he has a 50 percent buy on clause. To me it's a huge loss. To Levy it's a good profit.
Are you "alluding" or stating? Make your mind up.

You haven't got a Scooby who decided which player was rated by whom. Yet another one who spouts opinion as fact. I'll caveat that by saying that your opinion may be right, but you have as much idea about who made the decision as I do.

You can't have it both ways my friend, either Levy always goes with the cheaper option, in which case Tottenham would have Tomiyasu playing at RB, or he sanctions a payment because he's been advised that the player is the right one. The fact that we paid more for Royal kind of negates any assertion of the former.

Why you're bringing Edwards into it I don't know, but the situation remains the same. If he has been advised that Edwards was demanding what he wasn't prepared to earn, and there were plenty of rumblings that this was the case, then he'll sanction the sale.

I don't see him being chased and courted by any other clubs, let alone big ones, that would lead you to believe he's the loss you claim he is. There's plenty of players in Portugal going for big money, all young too, but he isn't one of them.

I agree. I'm just making the point that most fans believe we haven't spent on what we need. Its not that they think we haven't spent. They way Levy spends leaves us not spending for more than 500 days, then he spends and buys absolute crap.
Yeah, you can’t say levy always spends & backs the manager when we have signed no one. He Goes through spells of barely spending & not backing the manager. To panicking when this obviously backfires & then overspends poorly on unsuitable players. He can’t get it right.

Everyone is out to get levy. One big conspiracy! Any one who says a bad word against him is lying! Mourinho clearly spending his days in rome conjuring up lies to make levy look bad. Good grief! How paranoid the levy lovers have become!
