I want to ask you lot about midfield reinforcements...I've thought for some time we should try in the summer to get in the conversation for Lucas Paqueta. I think he'd be brilliant PEH/ GLC upgrade if we are talking about 50 million for Gallagher I'd pay 75, plus Skipp or Glc or whoever.

This is a massive January for a combination of reasons. It's arguably more important that we go ambitious than back when 'Arry was storming the league and was rewarded with Nelsen and Saha.
First of all, our manager isn't someone with a court case hanging over his head while eyeing the England job. On the contrary - we have a new manager that has come in and immediately done an amazing job at fixing a completely broken club, squad and fanbase alike. You reward this man, who is currently trying to grind out results with a decimated squad, and do so with good players.
Secondly, as this evening shows, we aren't a million miles off the top. We could get lucky and do something special if the chips fall our way - whoever wins the title this season will absolutely not be of the same quality as previous seasons (including if Man City win it again, they aren't at the heights of years gone by). Spending now will surely, at the very least, help cement a CL spot. It'll definitely help us be even better next season if we give some new faces 6 months to bed in.
I do, and thought he would have been a clever signing in summer. Not because he's a particularly flashy player, but because he'd fit the Ange system like a glove and run his bollocks off for us.

I just don't rate any of our attackers that much. Better than what some of our rivals are working with but they're all causing problems for various reasons.
Maddison is the only one I have absolutely zero complaints about, he might be the best attacking player we've seen here since Kane.
We need to try to find another truly elite forward. It's holding us back more than anything, at least with CBs it's more of an issue of depth.

But mainly, the way I look at it is...we're only 4 pts behind. With all them mad things that have happened to us since that crazy Chelsea game (fuck you, you fucking criminals), whereas the Goons have had all the luck in the world. But it won't last. We're gonna get our best men back, Ange gonna find us a couple gems in January, refs gonna stop screwing us and boom. Those who think we played our best footy during that 10-game stretch at the start of the season ain't seen nothing...our best is still to come and it's gonna be something.
I'm calling it: we won't win the league (oil riggers or bin dippers will) but we will finish 3rd ahead of those pricks we call neighbours...and we will win the FA Cup.
