Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Nusa is a fantastic prospect! So much speed, and unlike over very own Brennan Johnson, got tons of technical abilty as well.

Not giving up on Johnson, but Nusa will probably play over him from the go

Who would everyone prefer us to buy out of Gallagher, Henderson or Phillips? My preference would be Phillips. I always thought he was better for England than Rice. Although that’s not saying much!😂

None

All way over any sensible cost, both transfer and wages - eg Phillips is 28 so nobody can guarantee he will be as good as he is now in 3 or 5 years time, hence their value is capped. Henderson an even more extreme example

FFS. Give it a rest about Johnson.

Be happy about Nusa, absolutely, but there's plenty of ability that lies with young Brenners too.

Also, you have no idea if Nusa will play over him 'from the go' either.

Large chunk of wages off the balance sheet aswell I imagine.

He'd definitely do a job for us but with Solomon and Werner we should have ample cover in his position now.
It was reported as 180k a week but he was a Bosman so might be near the mark.
So that’s at least 100 for Lloris, 70-80 for Dier and now Perisic. Rough estimate of 300k a week saved.
Dragon and Werner will be a lot less.
Daniel will be dancing in the aisles as the wages to turnover ratio plummets downward.

bit in bold correct

so was Gil when signed

Nusa hasn't played that much in the Belgium league, very unlikely he will replicate that form immediately in PL. Hopefully would do so in 2 or 3 years
Watching Gil on YouTube after we signed him….my first thought was that he would get flattened in our league . Hasn’t exactly proved me wrong.
Watching Nusa…..Christ he looks some player.
Don’t judge off YouTube but he is a far better prospect than Gil ever was.

31 games for Club Brugge, and 4 caps for Norway National team. Man of the match in 1 or 2 of them. Not bad to be 19.

Maybe drew it a bit to far, but he really looks to be the real deal, and probably better than BJ atm

Both Dier and Perisic have been announced as a loan, but we all know they are not coming back.

I'm guessing the deals are structured as a loan for good reasons (eg safeguard player salaries) but I do wonder if Spurs will have been clever with the contract wording so as to exclude them from the category of 'loan' for which the maximum number is 7 ....... unless we are confident we will be well inside that limit.
Yeah I don't think they would be excluded from the 7 loan limit. There is an exemption that allows clubs to go over the max number of loans from 1 club if there's an obligation to buy but I don't think there's a similar obligation exemption for this

Belgian league is chalk and cheese to Italian League or PL

Look at Charles de Ketalaere who looked fantastic a fantastic forward at Bruges (and more track record than Nusa), moved to AC Milan who then loaned him out to Atalanta to get experience, now starting to look a decent player at AC Milan 2 years after his move from Bruges

So its more likely Nusa will take a year or two to adjust to PL

It isn’t like Ronaldo went for the sporting quality so they’re essentially on par, but you could argue that at least Ronaldo stuck around. Besides, it seems like it might have all been for nothing for Henderson.

Ronaldo was also 37 pushing 38, it was pure retirement n money, hendo only 32/33

Hopefully we put a £1 obligation on Hadjuk then!

Edit : just re-read, that wouldn’t work… darn it!

wouldn't surprise me in option or obligation to buy for £1 in Dier and Perisic contracts - too small to warrant announcement but means 'small print' gets round the loans limit.

Just my opinion of course

Nusa has not impressed me in Belgium. Doku was levels above him at the same age.

Not saying he is no great talent but he's a big hype and still a gamble.

The biggest talent imo in Belgium is Vermeeren and as always the Anderlecht boys.
