5 players is doable. We got the mullah. We ain't talking signing 5 superstars either. And that's what we need after years of squad mismanagement.

Plus if Frase, Reggy, Sess, Japh, Spence, Joe R, Pierre, GLC, Tanguy & Gil leave...here's hoping 🤞🏻🙏🏻...you gotta bring a few new bodies in.

I'd forgotten about Veliz. I still think he could do with a loan to a bottom half PL/top Champo contender. See what Ange thinks of Troy, Dane, Donley, Yago, Jude, Dorrie...be good to fully integrate Devine & another Academy kid or two, then send the other top prospects on good loans a la Port Vale.
Fraser just signed a new contract

IMO I think we may have done all our business.

Not just your opinion mate, the manager said it as well.

Unless someone gets desperate and comes to us offering a player for a ridiculous discount, we are definitely done. Even then, the deadline is tomorrow? It's looking like a dry deadline day for sky.

I still watch a wee porn when in a relationship ha ha

I'm pretty sure (and I'll need to check this) but we are the most profitable club in London.

OK checked. According to Forbes, we are the most profitable football in the world over the last three years. Third most profitable sports business after the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.

That Ted Hughes denying clown 🤡 disagreeing with facts again, Blakey :harrylol:

Kvaratskhelia yes.

I've always been a fan of Leao since his Lille days, on his day he can be unplayable, but he does have days where he just isn't on it, and he's really fucking slack without the ball.

I like Mitoma. I think he's exactly what we need. Technically good, hard working, productive.

Mitoma is great, not incredible. I'd love to have him as an option off the bench but he's not a starting WF in a team that wants to challenge for the prem IMO. People could disagree, and I could be wrong.

Thing with Leao IMO is the pace, power and threat with the ball that forces teams to plan against him. That creates space for Son if he's playing CF, Richy or even opens space for Johnson's pace in behind. I get that he's off-form and fucking expensive. I think we should be able to afford him but also accept that we have never done a transfer like that and probably never will.

We need to find someone out there just before they reach that level.

Well... I get what you mean, and I don't like to use this fact as weapon either.

But we ARE richest club in London BASED ON PREVIOUS YEAR financials. Our revenue is the biggest while our salary-bill is lowest of the big competitors. AND our debt is almost exclusively long-term WITH very low fixed rates.

Only chance how other clubs could be considered richer is if Chelsea managed to sell their loan-army-players for higher profit (and also Havertz-Mount sales impact).

That being said, with no European football and less matches as well, we will NOT retain that position for next financial year.

The only reason we aren't the richest club in London is because our owners aren't the richest nor do they invest their own money into the club.

woolwich and chavski have wealthier ownership groups with more will to invest their own money but if we look at them as custodians as opposed to the club itself, then in terms which club is the richest, Tottenham Hotspur is undoubtedly the richest club in London and amongst the richest in the world of football.

We have more chance of signing Maradona than Leao. At no point will the club sign a player at £100 million because they’ll want close to that. He’s Ballotelli with a better attitude and don’t think Ange would put up with his inability to run back or lack of desire to run back. On his day he’s a special talent though but so was Taraabt🤣
Miltoma is the type of player who’d do great for us. Works both ways and always a goal threat. Won’t be getting him either though.

Leao is Ballotelli? LOL

Look, Leao has always been an example for me more than him as a specific player and I agree we won't sign him. I'm more saying we need to sign a player that consistently does what he's capable of at his best.

If we want to challenge for big things, we need a star quality forward. Either a LWF and Son plays #9 more often, or a #9 and Son plays LWF more often but really #9 in this system isn't a dominant role and Richy performs the role almost perfectly. So, IMO it's a LWF we need.

Rafael Leao is horrendously overrated in proportion to the price he'd demand.

But he'd be a massive upgrade on what we do have and it'll keep parts of the fanbase who clamour for the big names happy.

Just wish we had a peak Hazard style , take game by the scruff of the neck, get you off your seat type wide forward, but they seem to be a dying breed really. Or I'm having a complete mind blank

Improving in Jan is mostly a myth.....................

That’s bollocks though isn’t it?

Liverpool bought Suarez in January and it improved them.

We bought benatancur and kulusevski it did the same.

Redknapp bought 3 players off us when at Pompey and it saved them.

2 points from 8 games season we bought palacios. Keane and Defoe back and it helped set us up to get fourth soon after.

There’s plenty of examples when the January window is good. But at the other end of the scale you have Torres/Carroll.

We definitely need someone special in our front line that could turn defeats into draws and draws into wins. At the moment I don’t think we have had the front three click at the same time and sometimes all three are off it. It’s probably the final part of the jigsaw of how we become challengers. Only Sonny has that star quality but he has a lot of off days. The big thing for me is how untidy our front players can be,not clinical enough and their decision making in the final third lets us down. Maybe we’ll see that improve when Madders is back in and up to full fitness but we can’t expect it all to click because of Madders.

This is what I'm saying more than Leao specifically. I know we aren't getting Leao...I don't see any reason financially why we shouldn't but also understand that players like that are usually vanity signings for rich owners putting their own money in and our owners don't do that.

The young Swedish guy Bardgji has been compared to Hazrd but left footed. Not sure personally. You are right that there isn't one in the prem right now. Liverpool built their challenge to City on pressing, pace, and clinical finishers like Mane and Salah. Son is a bit like that, I guess we saw Johnson as having that kind of ceiling. City are built on passing forwards and even players like Grealish (eventually Doku) Pep converts them into pass first system guys eventually.

Hazard had pace too
