The 430th edition of the CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post presents the top 100 teams in the world having invested the most on transfer fees (including add-ons regardless of effective payment) to recruit players currently in their squad. Four teams head the list with investments of at least one billion euros: three English clubs (Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City) and one French (Paris St-Germain).

He's a player who's been watched by bigger clubs for several seasons now but never seem to be able to gather enough interest for them to offer the necessary money to get him.
He's 26 now, so not that young either (nor old). But there aren't many quality left-footed LF available so.
Anyway, I would presume that Angelos will want to see Gil in training (and games) before making a final decision (unless he's already made up his mind about Gil)

Leaves us with only Solomon and Sonny as LWF. I think going forward Sonny will become our main CF and Solomon can get a goal but his career suggests he gets about 5 a season.

Gil who knows if he's even good enough, but he seems more of a creator.

I meant that right now the LWF position is one of the least urgent positions - particularly after Johnson was bought (he's right-footed so I presume he will be used primary a as LFW) - this January transfer window, unless a top talent becomes available.
I said that Porro can play as as LFW (he even did it briefly for Spurs once if I don't remember wrongly) not that I want him to play there, not that I think Angelos will start him there.
Perisic has 3 assists so far this season (as WF) and last season he scored 1 goal and had 8 assists as LWB. Yes, he'll be gone by next season but he's still a Spurs player.

We possibly have the numbers right now at LW and a decent amount of creativity but not elite level goal scorers baring Sonny in my opinion.

What do you think is our most urgent position that needs attention regarding our starting 11.

In the top 6 there's 3 oil clubs (Inc Chelsea), Utd who have one of the highest revenues in football, but have breached FFP, Woolwich who are on a FFP watch list (whatever that is) and us.

But apparently we don't spend anything.

Oh and Woolwich outspent us by £7m despite some claiming that they spent double of what we spent
 
Nusa would be lovely. Just don't think it's a position we'd be prioritising.

Can see us starting to scout for a young left back and central midfielder come January

It's still early in the season with a new head-coach - which means a new playing formation - but right now, since I consider Johnson as a LWF, I'd say the right side in the attack. Kulusevski hasn't lived up to the displays he showed in his first (half) season. But he's still only 23 so there is still hope for him, though
Gil may spring a surprise once he's fit but is living in the hope for now.
CF could be a concern, but if Son continues as he did vs Burnley (well, I don't expect him to score hat-tricks every game!) and stays injury free then I can live with that this season.
And hopefully Richarlison become "okay" again.

Why? He doesn't normally play there, and he's right-footed, which would suggest that playing wide on the right would suit him more. I don't know if you noticed but we don't play with inside forwards.

I am not saying Johnson cannot or should not play on the right - but when he get his games we'll see what plans Angelos have for him.
 
We need a CB... Its obvious... Nelsson wants to play for us and is reasonable price, Schuurs to... Tapsoba would have been the dream but I think he's been priced out of it... I'm still saying Orban for striker, he's perfect for us and wouldn't break the bank.... Think Dier, Sessagnon and Gil will be moved on in January to balance the books on a couple of signings.

All of those players play on the wing they normally play on, and Son, Solomon, and Perisic are two-footed enough that it doesn't hamper them. Kulusevski is obviously struggling staying wide.
 
we obviously need a centre back however... it's unlikely, a bit left field and most opportunist but: jadon sancho on loan with an option? what with the rumored departure of perisic come the winter
