With the CB injury crisis as bad as it is, you would think that, we might bring in someone quite quickly.

No real surprise - but he won't be available during January and likely much of early Feb

Last Asia Cup 4 years ago, Son missed the first couple of games for Korea to minimize the time away from Spurs matches - I think Korea are one of the favorites and so the early games are pretty easy wins. We should be doing it again this year.

Who here has the number for the Korea FA and wants to give them a call? 😀😀

South Korea is ranked in mid 20's in the world, and they play in the group stages Bahrain and Jordan who are both ranked in mid 80's and Malaysia at 130.

So Son probably wouldn't be that missed - but sadly our best hope might be he stays on the bench for the opening matches !

Bless, you must have spent ages making no valid argument.

I said no title winning team has had to use other players as CB's

Your first line shows 2 CB's being used away from CB
Your 2nd line shows 1 player being played (sort of) out of position as a CB, not all of them.
Your 3rd line shows an attacker playing different attacking positions (nothing to do with defense at all)
Your 4th line shows vague references to a team who have won 1 title in 34 years shuffling a bit, where we know they didn't shuffle and had 1 or 2 of the best CB's available all season in that 1 title winning seasons.
A title winning team is built on a solid defense that plays most games. CB's playing CB as regularly as possible is critical. You can wing it occasionally with 1 out, but not both, for sustained periods of time.
I said it under both Mourinho and Conte, having a weak defense upsets the whole team as the forward players need confidence in the players behind them.
Oh yawn. It’s predictable that when you can’t prove your point and obviously did not want understand to my point then you resort to cheap, childish insults – that’s an insult to human intelligence. May the Almighty bless you with maturity and intelligence,

Klinsmann is their manager and has been having a hard time. Already said Sonny will go on 1 Jan

My point was clear. You don't win the title with no CB's.
For the record, I did attempt to reply in a friendly way.

Mr Levy, here's the roadmap:

- Brassier for £10mil
- Tosin for £10mil...or free swap with Dier (who gets to stay in the PL, in London and start every week for a decent team)
- Rabiot for Hojbjerg + 25 mil + one of my kidneys
- Olise for Skipp + Gil + 25 mil
- Jack Clarke for Parrott + Scarlett + 10 mil
- Solanke for 50 mil + Veliz on loan for 18 months

Don't you dare tell me it's not doable in the space of a month and that we don't have the finances. I accomplished it all within 4 days on Football Manager.
If you had to deal with Rabiot's mama in FM you'd never had signed him

My hope is that £60m is the upper limit of his fee, and one that's unlikely to be achievable. Regardless, very bizarre that this is our record signing.

For someone so suppoesdly meticulous, and stingy, when he does spend big it often seems like an impulse buy without a lot of forethought or due diligence.
One can only hope.

My own theory on it is the only reason Levy sanctioned it was because
a) Conte supposedly wanted him and Levy felt under pressure to deliver a big signing for him.
b) perhaps more importantly, Levy saw Richarlison as #PremierLeagueProven. Levy’s football knowledge is pretty much universally accepted as crap, so he probably felt in his ignorance that he was a relatively safe investment rather that spending 60 million on a player from outside the PL.

Either way, it was a daft signing and it encapsulates perfectly ENICs ineptitude that he is our record signing.

We need CB's

Romero is too unreliable.
Sign another player capable of being the main man at the back.
Let them fight it out for supremacy.
And then sign another CB

Title winning teams don't have to keep shuffling players from other positions into critical ones like CB all season long.
The competition might make Romero buck his ideas in terms of being a bit rash knowing he’d lose his place and may not get it back.

Chaps, you laugh...and I thank you for that!...but the first two on that list should be bread & butter for us. Getting them two boys first thing in Jan should be zero trouble for a club like Spurs, with or without incl big Eric in the Tosin deal.
A bit of a bizarre list.
It was widely reported that Tosin didn’t want to join us in Summer and would have gone to Monaco if they could have agreed a fee. Don’t see that the CB injuries would change his stance.
Jack Clarke for 10 million — more than we sold him for — plus two promising strikers? For the record, I don’t see Parrott as having an EPL career but there’s no way we include Scarlett too.

I’m not sure if your post was pure sarcasm or otherwise.

Richarlison was just a bizarre signing that I honestly don’t think any Spurs fan could offer any universally accepted logical reason as to why we decided to spend 60 million on him.
Indeed said at the time why are we in for him? Surely an attacking forward who can beat people, has good skills and can chip in with decent qty of goals was needed for that price. The obvs 2 being ollise and eze both of who are better than rich. Having said that let’s see what Rich can do as main man when son is off to Asia cup.

Lol yeah she's supposed to be a right nightmare. That being said, it was mostly when her lad was at PSG and they're a friggin weird club, one that'd stop at nothing to discredit someone that doesn't play ball. Seem to recall reading not long ago about how they could go on trial for having recruited an army of twitter accounts to launch online attacks on people with adverse views of the club...or something along those lines. That Nasser and his mob are proper mafia type.

You’re 100% right according to this Athletic article in February.

“It is believed Daniel Levy did alot of the running for the [Richarlison] deal. A source close to the transfer said Levy recognised before pretty much every other Premier League club that Everton would in financial peril last summer and would be willing to sell Richarlison for a fair price. It felt like an opportunistic move rather than one that was based on 12 months of hard scouting and realization that Richarlison was the perfect fit.”

Levy found out the Everton was distressed seller and smelled a bargain - and went for the deal without regard to a philosophy, playing style or proper scouting. The usual story.

But credit where credit is due - The disastrous Jose/Nuno/Conte era seems to have taught Levy a lesson - and hopefully he’s stepped back from transfers / is letting football people recruit players that fit a playing style with minimal interference. Let’s hope it lasts and Levy sanctions the funds for a centerback early in the window.🤞
