And I think he'd have made an adequate 3rd choice had he stayed, which was why I disagreed.

There's nothing sinister in this Bruv, it's a simple disagreement. I accept that your opinion differs to mine, why can't you do the same?

So you disagree with the manager.
which is your opinion. There will be some that disagree with him about Dier and think he should have played more.

Simple fact of the matter is that we have been short at CB in the manager's eyes with Dier and would have been with Davinson too.

We sold Dav because the offer was there and he wanted out. When he was available, he was ahead of Dier.

Whether I agree with his assessment or not is irrelevant, I'm disagreeing with YOUR opinion that we would have been short had he stayed.

If we thought he was an adequate depth player at CB, we wouldn't have sold him.

We didn't so we did sell him.

We'd have been short at CB even if he'd stayed. It's not my opinion that he was sold. He was actually sold.

Only thing that worries me a Tad with Rodon is its the championship, Players like Winkys ( no disrespect) look brilliant , however with Rodon they love him there and are actually worried about him being recalled to Spurs!

It's not really a valid response though is it. They got the deal 6 months later because they agreed to pay something like £19M more as compensation for tapping him up.

They didn't want to pay the extra, they did it to avoid sanctions.
Did they? Have you any source for that?

They did not receive any sanction as a result of Saints “tapping up” allegation.

Every player is “tapped up” these days ffs. Are you so naive to think that managers aren’t sounding out players before the club moves for them?
Saints were just at the end of their tether with Liverpool as they had been raiding their players for years.

Whiteman was only in the squad because we had places spare. We had 5 keepers in our PL squad.
Hugo now gone. There is no limit on HG players. We can have 25 if we want. The only limit is on non HG. Max of 17 in a 25 man squad of over 21 players. Under 21 are free pick.
Not sure you understand the rules.
Further to that….what are Austin and Whiteman doing at Tottenham. They are both 25 yrs old and hardly ever played first team football with anyone. A loan here and there. They are basically used as training keepers. Shows a great lack of any ambition. Obviously happy just putting their time in.

Not correct. He was injured so could not go on loan in August hence was put into squad.

New squad to be announced at end of January, and again will include 3 (but could be more) GK's, so one of Austin or Whiteman very likely to be included.

I'm not sure when we last announced a major incoming player on the same day as a match and its rare over a weekend (although I think Modric announced on a Sunday), so personally doubt any incoming transfers will be announced now until next week,

IMO Levy right now is doing the best he ever has for us. Mou, Nuno and Conte were terrible fuckups , but Levy has hit it out of the park with the Paratici and Ange appointments. If we can just keep this setup together for another 2-3 seasons, we should at least have won some minor silverware and be a consistent participant in CL again. The potential ceiling is much higher though- winning the league with style, maybe even CL too.
Agreed. Levy has fucked up on some hires, some transfers, not supporting Poch, haggling to 1 minute to midnight etc, but he's also delivered the best stadium and facilities in the UK, and finally hired what was probably the best available manager.

Don’t people get bored arguing the same thing every window?

It’s never any different so why get so het up about it?
