Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just sell him ffs, they will stagger the payments over 4 years so if he goes for say 5m rather than 10m, the annual delta is c.1M

Move on - put a sell on in there and fee increases for caps, contract renewal, promotion, staying there etc
When everyone complains about transfer negotiations being drawn out and taking too long, you've basically listed why it happens.

The minutiea is haggled over 10X more than the fee. Same for salary agreements with players which are way more complex than "£100k/week for 5 years".

Guy's full of bad faith arguments.

I absolutely garantee you that had we missed out of signing a player like Van Dijk in the Summer window the same old voices would be piping up, and you know EXACTLY what they'd be saying.

This is what I find funny, I don't understand why folk need to try and find any shread of evidence to confirm their bias about the board, people are just running out of things to be mad about Levy and ENIC because they've done a lot of good work over the past couple of years, they ain't perfect but they have improved and got their act together, that's probably the best we can ask for from our owners, they just need to keep it up.

4th Jan today and people are having meltdowns over not signing a 3rd choice CB, talk about 1st world problems lmao
It's not really Levy anymore though, he's just used as a vehicle to carry out character assassinations on certain posters.

You seem to be flavour of the month at the moment.

We need a first team attacker / front 3 player IMO. Son is gonna be fucked post tournament - unrealistic to think he can continue these minutes. Either a wide forward or 9. Not gonna lie Solomon looks shit to me thus far, be surprised if he develops tbh

Couple of injuries away from having zero goal threat, wouldn’t be against Romero playing up top ahead of Solomon, Gill etc
Tbf, how can you say Solomon looks shit 'so far'. He's barely played, and the one full game he did play (i think) he assisted 2 goals!!.........🤷‍♂️

Football Insider have shared an interesting line on the story today, with Tottenham already making an under-the-radar offer.

Spurs have loan bid rejected for Dragusin
Indeed, according to their information, Tottenham have tabled a bid to sign Dragusin on loan, but Genoa swiftly rejected that proposal as they hold out for a permanent deal.

The Serie A side want what FI describe as a "big January cash windfall", and won't entertain offers of a loan or loan-to-buy this month. In any case, it is also believed that Tottenham remain confident they'll sign the Romania international after agreeing terms with him.

He's asking for a source for a point he brought up and a debate he started, classic 😆
What are you talking about you sausage?

He’s the one who brought up the tapping up nonsense, not me.

The person who started this debate was YOU when you questioned when do January deals get done early and I stung you with an answer you didn’t like or didn’t fit your agenda, remember?

Liverpool literally apologised for any 'misunderstanding'

Well they were pretty much forced into doing this by Saints publicly outing them and reporting them.

Did they face any sanctions? No.

Football insider know nothing. They just pick up stuff from the internet

Fully agree we need someone short and long term to push Sonny and also play LW when Son is central

Southampton decided not to pursue as they decided to take em for 80 million.

If you want to copy that tactic then just say it. Tap up player and pay 20-30 million more than you may have cos you got found out.

There is plenty of other good business that Liverpool do to use as a benchmark.

Announcing VDV on Dec 27th after being caught tapping him up over 6 months prior and paying over the odds because of it is not comparable to us trying to sign a 3rd choice CB.
